COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aroma initially characterized by pepper that fight in a field ruled by a rich fruity fragrance of dried fruits with ripen banana, toffee and a soft sweet chocolate fragrance. The attentive taster shouldn't miss a sharp floral of rose and a sensation of must of wine always pleasant.

From 750 ml bottle at the Montreal YeHa! 2005. Dark, dark muddy brown with a thick, lasting dark head...lightly spicy nose offers anise first among many spices, dark pumpernickel-bready yeast...caramlel and licorice prominent in the very (almost too) sweet body, with notes of vanilla, nuts and cherry late...full and almost syrupy. Nice.

On tap at Churchkey. Served in a snifter. Pours a moderate brown color with just a touch of a reddish hue. A bit of head and lacing, but not as much as I’d expect for the style. The nose carries a good bit of Belgian yeast plus a light touch of spice. Nothing too complex or interesting, though it’s fairly well done. Flavor is about the same. Not really much of a noel beer. Medium body and good carbonation. Not bad, but not something that I would seek out again.

Clear reddish brown, chestnut colour, some floaties, beige head. Rather light aroma, subtle, with tones of almond, malt, hops, milk chocolate, light madeira and candy sugar. Flavour of sweet caramel and malts, bitter almond notes, light madeira. Somewhat reminding of barleywine. Sweet finish with a light bitterness trying to uphold itself. Nice and subtle beer.
(From 75cL bottle @ RBBWG 2012, Antwerpen. Thanx for sharing, Diabel!)

bottle @ RBBWG 2012 thanks to Diabel. Brown coloured beer with almost no carbonation and a small white head. Light alcoholic yeasty sweet hinted aroma. Full palate. Finish is malty with some alcoholic hintes and touches of spices. Almost barley wine like. Good, but not my favourite.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBWG 2012 – thx to Diabel – also came in one of those champagne/wine-like bottles which these Italian brewers keep procuring from somewhere – dark brown red with an off-white head – smells sweet with caramel, dark fruits & dark spices, slightly boozy – taste is caramel, dark malts & dark fruits, slightly toasted & bitter (some hops), touch syrupy, cocoa, mocha, spices & touch booze, medium bodied and carbonated

Veiled chestnut coloured beer; no head to speak off. Again a nose of coffee-milk; milkchocolate, velvet, cacaopowder. Bitterish almond flavour, superimposed on the chocolate/cacaoflavour. Chocolate goes on and on. I might get a little toffee, but from the other flavours suggested by the brewery, I’m a bit wary. Well bodied, alcoholwarming, slick. Grew on me, first impression is a bit underwhelming, but this needs a little time. I can’t help it but I get impressions of Christmas decoration - as on the bûche?

Bottle thanks to Boutip. Brown pour with smallish off white head. Aroma is spicy, but not the regular clove phenolics, more of cinnamon and cocoa, light fruitiness to go with the chocolate. Taste is bitter-sweet, quite fruity with a spicy finish that isn’t overdone. Palate is appropriate for the style, good body with medium carbonation. Pretty much as good as it gets for me in this style.
