Tap at Open Baladin in Rome. Dark, near clear amber, head off-white, retention ok, lace too. The nose is pale malts, lagery, faint if any caramel notes, slightly gingery, leafy and herbal. Barberry! Some booze coming through unfortunately. Tastes caramelly, spicy, slightly boozy even. Herbal bitterish finish. Carbonation rather pleasingly medium crisp. Sticky, strong in the mouth. Interesting experiment but a bit disappointing.

0.2 l draught @ Bier Bier, Helsinki. Golden colour, no head, no bubbles. Quite fruity and easy to drink. Reminds me Finnish sahti. Well, I guess this is ancient Egyptian sahti. Interesting.

Poured from the bottle into a not beer clean glass at a pizza place in Taipei. Cloudy copper with a nice cream head that quickly dissipated to a thin layer that stays till the end. No lacing. Weak aroma. Malty sweet front, spicy middle from the ginger, slightly bitter at the end. Really nice balanced flavor and an excellent smooth mouthfeel. An excellent beer overall but maybe a tad of dry hopping could add to the aroma without changing the overall beer.
