750mil Bottle from mgumby. Strong rye-like grain malt aroma with hints of ginger and myrrh. Cloudy yellow-orange color wtih small head. Sweet myrrh and lemon flavor. Light bodied. Very pleasant and exotic - a bit like a wheat beer which is probably why I like it.

Explodes out of bottle with a thick creamy head that takes a while to fade leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Spicey/floral nose. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is sweet and sour, hints of pepper, different from other spiced beers. Pricey, $12.40 for a 750ml bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 CaptainCougar (6747) - Boz Scaggsville, Maryland, USA - FEB 2, 2007
Bottle sampled on 7/2/06: Pours a cloudy copper bronze with thin-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet biscuity caramel malt and a touch of light fruity tartness. Starts with a body that foams up in the mouth showing some fruity acidity and bittersweetness before a thin, tart and rather bland finish. Not a huge fan of this, and definitely not worth the price.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Sham (1846) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 7, 2007
Cloudy gold with a small head and spots of lace. Aroma is of citrus and a touch of dryness. Yeast and a note of pears. Dry. The flavor on the other hand is a bit more sweet. The citrus is there, though there is some yeast. A little doughy. Smooth and even bodied. Very refreshing. A session beer almost. I want to try this again in the summer.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 OKBeer (1168) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - JAN 2, 2007
750 ml bottle from Sam’s in Chicago, bought as a tribute to my daughter, Norah, who spells it correctly! Golden amber colour with a mostly lasting creamy and frothy off-white head. Fruity, ginger, herbal, peppery, and lightly toasty aroma. Fruity, ginger, and herbal flavours with a peppery and dry hoppy bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft, rich, and creamy mouthfeel. Traditional ales are quickly becoming a favourite style of mine - grounded in tradition but experimental and an adventure at the same time. Reminds of the saying I keep in mind as a new parent at all times, "There are two things we can give our children. One is roots, the other wings."
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7062) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2006
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2007 Bottle at St Albans Beer Festival, September 2006. Hazy gold colour. Very spicy, peppery aroma with what I could swear to be mothballs in the equation too. Just the same on the palate with some sweet, tropical fruit touches. There’s something perfumed and a bit cosmetic running throughout. A rather odd beer that, I have to admit, wasn’t really to my taste.
