3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheJester (1230) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 3, 2011
Bottle. Hazy orangegold with a small white head. Mildly spicy aroma, but the flavour is more herbal, with some citrus and caramel. The aroma and the flavour are actually quite different - fairly unique in the beer world. The mouthfeel is almost creamy, partially due to the low carbonation.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2445) - Eureka, California, USA - DEC 16, 2010
From a 750 bottle at Bottego’s Restaurant in Yountville, CA. Served a little too cold. Poured a hazy straw color with a medium white head and light lacing. Nose is citrus, grass, flowers, and spices (what does myrrh smell like?). The body is medium and the mouthfeel smooth. There is a lot of flavor here with citrus and spices. The finish is dry and slightly tart. Very interesting beer and got better as it warmed. Glad it tried this one.

Orange sun-rise colored brew with highly carbonated and fluffy white head. Exceptionally mysterious and altogether pleasing harmony of aromas. Fragrant, with subtle ginger spice, and what I can only guess must be seductive myrhh. The body is more subdued gentle spicing layered thinly and sweetly across a moderate amber or pilsner malt backbone.

Bottled at Bull and Bush Xmas tasting in Denver, Colorado. Light orange appearance with a white head. Spicy Belgian flavor possibly from nutmeg. Spicy finish.

On tap at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL
Poured a moderate gold with a few orange highlights. Plenty of visible carbonation bubbles. The nose is full of spices, along with some citrus and a tiny bit of earthiness. Flavor takes it up another notch with loads of well-balanced spice and intricacies. Very complex. Mouthfeel is good with the right amount of carbonation. Excellent drinkability, as the brew is intense yet quite quaffable.

Let’s start with the bottle. It sets up the whole experience with Nora. It’s a unique shape for a unique beer. The beer itself is exquisite, smooth and highly drinkable. So far I have tried Nora and Super and overall I am quite impressed with this brewery.

Bottle that I picked up from Bellinger’s Jet Garage, Grove, Nr Wantage, Oxon consumed 31.10.10 Maybe I should have had this a little cooler (I had at just below room temp’) but suffice to say I’m not bothered by this beer at all. There is a sickly honey sweetness throughout. I don’t get the ginger but acknowledge that it is spicy, in fact I don’t really get this beer full stop, not my thing I’m afraid. A5 A4 T5 P3 Ov10 2.7
