This golden ale was ok but lacked the complexity of other more superior versions. I should have had this with pizza, probably would have tested better, double damn to hell and back!

330ml bottle at DOC pizza, Melbourne. A satisfactory golden ale with clean bittersweet flavours and good balance of cereal malts and citrussy hops. Well matched to the excellent pizzas served at this restaurant.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2013 Serving - Poured from a 33cl bottle into a TEKU glass.
Appearance - Lasting thick white head with fine bubbles. Slightly cloudy golden to orange color.
Aroma - Fairish intense and persistent. Primary aromas of malt and yeast, little hops. Secondary aromas of esters, yellow fruits, acacia honey, wheat . Alcohol notes.
Mouth - Low intensity and average persistence. Sweet malt entrance. It has little bitter notes at the end. Tastes of malts, honey, yellow fruits, little stale. Low carbonation. Medium body. Low to medium alcohol perception, little warming sensation.
Overall - It’s a very simple "normale" beer, so don’t expect too much! Balanced. Harmonic smell and taste.
Beer and food - Since it’s not a very special beer there is no special food to eat with. Can be put on the table every day whatever type of food you have.

33 cl bottle as Birra Lurisia Normale, unpasteurized. Dark gold, slightly hazed. massive white head, hoppy nose. Minimal malts profile, while grassy hops are on top. Pilsener like, wild hops. Taste bitter overall, light bodied, watery, sustained carbonation, dry finish.
