COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Water, malt, hops and yeast. That’s it! Why? It took a simple beer to express a simple project. And it took an innovative beer to express an innovative project. This is how OPEN BALADIN was created: a beer with a “strong” personality and at the same time delicately captivating. And this is how this beer – the first “open source” beer in Italy – has slowly captured the hearts (and especially the throats…) of those who enjoy good, healthy and informed drinking. 27 EBC, 16.8°

Tap. Huge two fingers of pure white head, sticky spotty lacing, clearer marigold hue. Hoppy with a little sweetness and a bit of citrus in the aroma. Fairly bland taste at first, but then provides a kick of spice and hop in the finish. Mostly sweet maltiness and the hop in the aroma kinda gets lost in the flavor. OK

On draught at Open Baladin Rome. Pours a clear gold with fine bubbles and white head. Light to medium body. Soft mouthfeel. Palealtoness flavors evenlyatched to mellow hop flavor and subtle hop bitterness. Late alcohol presence. Clean and nice. Resembles a strong pale ale should such a category exist.

25cl bottle. Hazy brown with thin head. Nice aroma - tangy fruits and hops. Full body with good carbonation. Flavour malt with peppery spiciness. Plenty of pleasant hoppy bitterness in the long finish. Overall a very solid beer, although it reminds me more of a strong Belgian beer with extra hops, than an IPA.

Bottle from Bellingers, Jet Garage, Grove, Nr Wantage, consumed at campsite back of The Trout, Nr Lechlade, Gloucestershire, 24-07-10 Pours warm gold with a white head and busy carbonation. There is light mlt and honey on the nose, taste is really quite honeyish but with a flurry of bitterness and some petals, floralness, really nice steady bitterness. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle, thanks to CCskou.
Pours clear golden with a nice, staying, small, creamy, white head. Aroma is pleasantly hoppy, some grapefruit, apples and pineapples. Light piney as well. Medium carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is light fruity tart and bitter, good peach and grapefruit. Light vinious. Somewhat grassy and piney. Long, deliciously dry finish with firm bitterness. Good.

Bottle: Poured a murky brown orange with a creamy off white head. Aroma is citrus and wheat. Taste is a bitter hops and wheat, not really a IPA in my mind. More of a wheat or witte.
