COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Water, malt, hops and yeast. That’s it! Why? It took a simple beer to express a simple project. And it took an innovative beer to express an innovative project. This is how OPEN BALADIN was created: a beer with a “strong” personality and at the same time delicately captivating. And this is how this beer – the first “open source” beer in Italy – has slowly captured the hearts (and especially the throats…) of those who enjoy good, healthy and informed drinking. 27 EBC, 16.8°

In italiano non riesco a descriverla dato che mi vengono fuori termini tipo "dorato profondo" o "note di pino", magari andrebbero pure bene ma sono abituato all’inglese quindi: deep golden color, medium off persistent white head, caramel aroma with citrus (grapefruit) and peach notes, citrus and pine mildly bitter flavor, dry finish with herbal notes aftertaste, nice.

Restrained aroma in a golden pour. Strangely Belgian flavour profile for an ’American’ ale - but very tasty regardless. It is hard to rate these Italian brews as they are somewhat unique.

Dorata carica, velata dai lieviti in sospensione, schiuma bianca di media persistenza. Aroma agrumato, zucchero caramellato, alcool. Al palato sempre agrumata e zuccherina, maltata, retrogusto amaricante erbaceo e leggerissimo passion fruit, alcool fin troppo presente. Corpo medio, mediamente carbonata.

Bottle. Unusually choclaty for an american pale ale. Not as refreshing as I like them to be. OK.

On tap @ Open Baladin, Rome.
Honeyish yellow body with a froathy white head. Aroma of honey and some herbs. Medium-full body with malty sweetness, not a well hidden alcohol - but well hidden hops. Except more.
