3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Not as bitter as expected. Orange amber, medium carbonation, no foam on top. Smells hoppy, mostly citrus notes, then a bit sweet. First taste is lightly bitter, with confirmation of citrus notes, and some fruity hints (raisin, berry) and a bit of spice (pepper, clove). Then it smoothes a lot, going to bread notes, caramel, yeast. Aftertaste is quite balanced, with a bitter finish.
Nice one, not amazing but really balanced and an easy introduction to bitterness for beginners.

Good, but not excellent.
It could be more agressive and little less bitter.

From a bottle. Dangerously smooth and drinkable, I like this a lot more than I’d expected and will keep a look out for it in future.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
May ’16. A 0.75 l bottle. It poured hazy golden to amber body with a small head. Sweetish toasted malt aroma, caramel, peach, raisins. Only lightly hoppy like citrus. Flavor was still on the sweeter side, toasted, especially caramel, vanilla, yeast, typically Belgian. Spicy as well, there were some cloves and pepper, too, with light citrus hop presence rounding it nicely. Medium to full body with high carbonation and a long, tingling sweetish finish that also showed light bitterness towards the very end. Very nice beer, well in style with Belgian ales, better they didn’t hop it up too much, achieving an excellent balance this way.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bevuta in bottiglia.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle in teku glass, tried several times during past years, got some boxes. Pours a moderate but quite durable off-white head, hazy full orange colour. Smells apricots, acacia honey, candied fruits, marmalade, sweet roasted. Tastes caramel malty, orange fruits, dried fruits, brown sugar. Very pleasant and well dosed medium sweetness, which is the focal point of the brew; low hoppy finishing note just to balance out. REGARDING THE BITTERNESS: THIS IS JUST A SLIGHLTY MORE HOPPY VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL ALL MALTS "SUPER", SO DON’T EXPECT THIS TO BE BITTER... The description in Italian: "A new concession on the actual "trend of bitter beers"... But maybe not too much". By the way good overall balance imo. Very nice medium to full body, spot on soft carbonation, huge drinkability. Great and original example of the belgian tradition, a mix between a blond and a dark strong ale. Almost better tweaked than the original Baladin Super.. Almost.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle into tulip. Found at Bardwell Park Cellars, Sydney. Caramel toffee on the nose. Opaque ’caramel sauce’ appearance with solid foamy white head. Champagne effervescence. Tingly and bitter like a grapefruit soft drink. Finish is fruity hoppy, alcoholic and red wine dry. Eccentric Italian version of a strong ale.
