COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Baladin Wayan is made of 17 different ingredients (barley, wheat, spelt, oats, rye, different types of hops and many different spices besides coriander. Teo calls it a "Saison" but it is certainly his personal definition of a saison. Aroma and palate are rather complex, ie it takes some time to find your way through it, so to speak. The different hops are barely noticeable. The balance and bitterness is by a high defree provided by those many spices some of which are very, very unusual in brewing. This quite unusual combination of spices and herbs greatly impacts the finish which again is very different from "regular" saison-style ales. Food pairings: Fish, salmon, salads, filet mignon and other steaks, Thai food.

750ml bottle. Hazy yellow body with a medium white head. Bready and fruity with a distinct peppery flavor and a hint of yeast. Light on the yeast in comparison to many other versions.

Pours a hazy dark golden body. Nice farmhouse aroma. The taste is also very nice and balanced with tones of hay and malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml olive colored nicely designed bottle, with an embossed logo and a wax sealed cork, poured into a snifter glass. Appearance is hazy tenné colored with a small white head that dissipated quickly leaving no lacing. Aroma of herbs, spices, peaches and orange peels. Flavours of herbs, peaches, orange peels, spices, wheat bread and caramel. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied, smooth texture and soft carbonation. Wayan is another excellent beer from Le Baladin, it’s well balanced and not overly sweet like many other non Belgian interpretations of the style. Complex mix of spices in the flavour, lingering pepper on the finish.

Refined and quietly subtle, sophisticated and very rewarding. Spicy, malty, sweet. Amber colour, medium white head. Mid-sweet, light bitterness, yeasty, but not as obvious as a Belgian version. Fruity. Medium body, spicy and sweet finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours hazy golden with a rather small frothy and fizzy white head that doesn’t leave much trace while dissipating. Smell is slightly estery and phenolic with dough, baked pears, marzipan, dry soil, pepper corns and lemon zest. Taste is slightly sweet, tiny bitter, estery and phenolic with white bread, dough, pears, apples, marzipan, dry soil, pepper corns, sheet metal and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is round, tiny dry, tiny tart and light bodied. Finish is estery and phenolic with dough, pears, apples, hay, dry soil, pepper corns, sheet metal and lemon zest. Ok...

Bottle @ home. Pours hazy golden with a fizzy head. Fruity and slightly funky aroma of ripe fruits, wet hay, wheat, oranges, spices and red apples. Dry and highly carbonated/sticky taste of oranges, pepper, hay, flowers & coriander. Has a really intense and lasting white pepper note lingering in the aftertaste.

Sample from tap @Baladin Milan. Pours pale yellow with white adhesive head. Aroma is a bit metallic, herbal. Taste bit watery but you feel the pepper in the back of your mouth. Not much body.

75 cl bottle in Teku (also tap at Baldin Milano). Pours a medium frothy white head; hazy orange/golden colour. Smells fruity/ripe fruit, wild yeasts, very spicy, floral and slighlty funky. Taste is grainy (is multigrain), apples, citrus (has orange zest), cinammon, gingery; low to medium/sweet, medium/high sourness, very sharp spicyness, especially in the end, with a very definite pepper note. Lively carbonation, sour and spicy finish, towards dry; almost any bitterness, a bit of cider notes. Characterized by the many different spices used, very refreshing, nice to be matched with fish/seafood dishes

Dobre, ladnie wygladajace piwo z lekka metnoscia oraz biala piana. Aromatyczne koloru jasno pomaranczowego. Bukiet slodowo zbozowy. W smaku lekkie ale o wyraznej nucie przyprawowej. Cynamon, kolendra oraz biszkopty. Slod lekko wyczuwalny takze chmiel jest delikatny. Wspolgra tu wszystko mimo tej delikatnosci.
