krisbierjaeger (837), dolores, Colorado, USA Dec 8, 2007 golden orange pour, bright as a marching band trombone, and peppered like a plate of fetucinni with bits of grist, trub, and the scattered super nova remnants of a vast yeast colony; yet for all that flotsam, it remains almost clear. the firm head, with both the color and fidelity of a pug dog, makes a worthy crown. wayan smells like a coconut husk door mat with a peculiar straw and chaff essence; but moreover, this mat was probably used outside a downtown strip club with it’s disagreeable notes of something akin to cigarette butts and years of spilled watered-down parasol punches--strong on fruit but short on booze. it’s got a bit of ginger, damp terry towel, banana, almond, baker’s yeast, and white dutch cheese. the animated carbonation chatters away on the fore-tongue, while a gator ade kind of sweetness swims over the palate with a watery feel. wayan is a grainy ginger ale, perfumed with every bath oil extract known to womankind, with virtually no hop effect, and finally with a buzz and complexity that would bore a boweevil. big fat thanks to ME for totting this pompous burden all the way back from italy. merda, i could’ve brought another bottle of braulio instead.
Maverick34 (508), New York, USA Aug 30, 2008 Big ol’ bouteille. Furit citrus yeast with large head that diminishes as the bottle sits there. Light, fruity, spicy and delicious. mabel (1710), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 6, 2008 [1384-20080524] 1pt9.4floz bottle. Initially a nice light fruity citrus yeast aroma, after swirling produces some notes of oil paints. Lightly hazy, yellow brown body with a medium-lasting creamy white head and lots of big floaties. Fruity yeast flavour has a bit of light Belgian yeast and citrus malt. Medium body has a nice sour tang. Refreshing, could be better carbonated.
(c/o biegaman, w/ others) BuckeyeBoy (1211), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle Pours out a cloudy gold topped with a white head. Aroma of sweet fruit and flowers. Tast very juice sweet with all kinds of sweet fruit. A little spice. A very nice brew. MakeItDrinkIt (66), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 14, 2008 Hazy golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is perfumed fruit, floral, light sweetness. Flavor is also lightly fruity, almost a touch of strawberries or raspberries, hints of honey, possibly some coriander, but very very little. An extremely well made and well balanced saison. Reminds me of fields of hay in the summer.
