4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding.
Pours clear chestnut with no head. Aroma is sweet, some port, some caramel, tea, sharply vinious, plant sap, cactus. Very low carbonation, fat and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is very elegant, caramel sweetness abound, slight smoke, peity, sugary and herbal. Delicious fat mouthfeel.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared by Dave, thanks man! Pours a mostly clear dark copper color with no head, a slick oily body. A super sweet nose of syrup, berries, caramel, oxidation, some earthiness. A similar flavor of super sweetness with candies, caramel, huge heat, rich earthiness and berries. Not that much smoke but more earthiness from the tea. Very good. Decadent and beastly.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle from sprdv 7/3/11.
brown pour with no head or carbonation.
smells great.... vanilla, malt syrup, peaty earthiness, black tea, mild smoke, grass, honey and seaweed.
the flavor is a huge let down...it is unholy sweet, lacking any kind of balance and generally unpalatable. thick, cloying and harsh.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Aroma has notes of dark dried fruit, smoke, leather, honey, tea and caramel. Dark hazy amber/maroon hue with no head. Flavor is very sweet. Palate is very full bodied and oily flat. Overall a very interesting barley wine but I’m not really digging the tea infusion and complete lack of carbonation. No desire to try again.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
16.9 oz bottle. Lightly hazed amber with no head. Nose is honey, black tea, light smoke and maybe some kelp. Sticky, syrupy, no carb but a slight tang. Taste is honey, tea, hints of smoke but kind of simple; meadlike. Probably needs some age to develop some complexity. Either that or the tea notes have faded since bottling. Expensive but i’m tempted to score another.
