1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 SanfordBrewer (1206) - Sanford, Florida, USA - SEP 11, 2010
lucent straw color with a decent white head on it, medium-light body and high co2.
aroma and flavor are mild, with a slight hint of fruity yeast esters.
typical inoffensive and uninteresting american macro.
reminds me of coors lite, but then again i don’t really drink that very often either.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ronaldtheriot (362) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JUN 12, 2010
Ballantine Ale has a thick, white head and a deep golden, clear color with high, bubbly carbonation. Aroma is rather neutral and a bit fruity. The taste is very good: full flavored with maybe an apple or other fruit aspect. Mouth-feel is medium. Ballantine finishes crisp and satisfying. Overall, I really enjoyed this both times I had it (2005 & 2010). Note: this is not available in Louisiana. I bought it on road trips to New York City. I’d recommend drinking this poured out of the can (as I did this time- 16 oz.) rather than the green bottle, as that could allow for spoilage.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 beerbill (2850) - Laurel, New York, USA - FEB 6, 2010
22 oz. bottle. Label reads it is brewed by Falstaff Brewing in Milwaukee, WI. I’ve had this from time to time for more years than I care to remember. I’m looking at a steel sided can in my collection right now that must be 30 years old that I know I drank. Oy vey. Pours a clear gold with a moderate-large white head that is fed initially by lots of large carbonation bubbles. Strong aroma of husky grain. The flavor is very similar with harsh husky grain along with just a bit of grassy hops. This is one of those beers that seems to generate a lot of burping, and tastes the same coming back up as it did going down. Not a horrible beer, but I don’t see myself finishing the whole 22 ounces either.

good to chug! Find a fotey and party! Pours rusty copper and has a strong malt character. Bitter at first sweet in the end. Had a long time ago so hard to characterize. A drunks gold!

For a 40oz/Malt Liquor drinker Ballantine is the best ever. Great Ale taste, drinking an ice cold Ballantine 40 is like heaven. This great Ale not only has historic value but might have the best label of all time. When I die I want to be embalmed with Ballantine
