My brew of choice for many years when young. Pale yellow color and thin body. There are more hops in the aroma and taste than BMC brands however.

12oz bottle: Pours a crisp gold with a paper thin white head. It seems the green bottle has does its duty here. Lots of grassy, skunky hop notes in the nose. The body is moderately chewy, filled with honey malt. Finishes with a nice fresh cut grass hoppiness. Nothing spectacular, but drinks easy and has a nice malt middle. Lose the dreaded green bottle and this might improve.

When I read "America’s largest selling Ale" on the bottle I thought I was doomed. It’s not a bad beer though. It’s golden in color with what was initially a pretty thick white head. That tapers off a bit but a thin head does maintain throughout. A slightly floral aroma but not strong at all. Taste is slightly sweet malt with an okay (mild) hop balance. It’s very smooth and quite refreshing, distinguishing itself from a typical "swill" beer. Now it’s nothing outstanding, or even really that good, more average, but I wouldn’t have a problem drinking this again.

12 oz bottle. Clear, light gold with a thin white head. As soon as I popped the cap, a nasty, skunky, Heineken-like aroma stung my nose. This dissipated after allowing the beer to breathe awhile, and turned to a sweet, malty, grainy scent, corn and honeylike notes. Sweet malt and a bit of buttery biscuit flavors, some honey. Marginal.

golden color, fluffy white head. aroma ofgrains, a touch of alcohol. flavor not unlike budweiser, which is a compliment. pretty watery in the mouth. not a memorable event. triple x? beats me.

Arghh, smells like Heineken. Aroma a bit skunky and sweet at the same time. Taste is sweet and a bit bitter with that skunk essence. Very light and more drinkable than I expected but still not my thang.

The aroma was corny and a bit stinky with DMS fairly strong when first poured. As the head fell back the aroma became lightly spicy with a low level of caramel. The beer poured into the glass clear golden straw with a low white head which didn’t last long. The flavor was nicely flavorful with some corny characteristics and caramel and a bit of sweetness. Hops were only present in the bittering enough to keep the malt from becoming cloying. The finish was just a bit sweet with lasting corn into the aftertaste. The body was medium, actually just a smidge more, with a somewhat low level of carbonation. An ok beer, but not overly flavorful. 12 ounce bottle.

Better than the pitiful rating on this site, this above average golden ale is still better than the three crappy macro pale-lagers:bud, coors, and miller. drink it cold and fast.
