16 oz. can. Pours clear light straw colored with a large head of billowy foam, which leaves surprisingly good lace. Aroma is light of barley/grains and grassy and some noble hops. Flavor is marginal; starts decent enough, but ends with a metallic astringency. Relatively thin mouthfeel, but otherwise smooth. Aside from the metallic taste, a pretty easy drinker with a bit more character than most other macro styles.

Sep 30, 2008 Had to try this one for the history. Pretty clean grain aroma and flavor, with just a hint of fruitiness in the aroma. Not terrible.

Sep 3, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a good looking clear gold with a fluffy bright white head. Aroma of vegtables, corn and wet grass and grains. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Weak flavor of stale grain and vegtable soup that finishes with a touch of bitterness. Blah.

Sep 2, 2008 Ahhh the legendary Ballantine ale. Been wanting to try this for a while. Too bad I’ll never get to try the IPA. This blonde isn’t bad though. 3.6% of all blondes...really people? Maybe I got lucky and got an unskunked sample. I get a very light hop aroma. Clear yellow, small white head. Flavor is smooth, slightly fruity aftertaste. Smooth finish, medium body.

Aug 18, 2008 This beer tastes like it was brewed before any escalators. Horrible. Skunky aroma and taste and hard to drink. Found this little billie to be pretty offensive.
