Bottled. Cloudy amber, creamy head. Fruity, somewhat ashy nose. Dryish with notes of melon.Soft mouthfeel. Long bitter finish. Solid.

Cask. Sourish and pleasantly citric aroma. Hazy brown colour. Small tan head. Malty and sourish flavour. The sourness is very nice, cleansing and balancing out the beer. Well-balanced.

Cask at Market Porter, LondonNew cask. Beautiful dark amber color; small creamy head; lace. Medium malty example, a lot of caramel, well bitter, fresh.

Orange with a creamy white head. Aroma is light malty but mainly hops. Some sour grassy hops - Northdown I thought - but appearently not. Medium mouthfeel. Freshness, crisp. Nice bitter end.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 08. Amber colour with disappearing bubbly head. Standard best bitter aroma, some toffee, candy sugar and earthy hop. Standard, but tasty, good bitterness on finish. Good balance, decent condition, very drinkable best bitter. Also featured on The Market Kitchen on UK TV.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma. Sweetish fruity malty hoppy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish.

Cask conditioned at Far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Amber to gold, hazed, with white head. Not the best bitter available, quite unbalanced with a perfumed strong hop note and a heavy, syrupy note. Struggling with this.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at Le Gothique.
A lovely copper colour with a thin but lasting bubbly white head. A straight forward drop of best really. Faint dusky sour notes, nice chalky dry feel with a good bitterness. Pleasant caramel in the finish with a pronounced nutty note. Fairly standard but very pleasant, even though it is growing old it’s still doing well. A decent best bitter.

Amber/ copper colour. Big, fluffy, lasting head. Dry and bitter, with some citric character. Quite crisp. Nice enough, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, as bottled, relatively low strength, bitters go, this is a pretty respectable example. Bottle conditioned at the RB Joet London gathering.
