Cask. Sourish and pleasantly citric aroma. Hazy brown colour. Small tan head. Malty and sourish flavour. The sourness is very nice, cleansing and balancing out the beer. Well-balanced.

Again, more props for a broad flavor profile. fruitiness of the edge of tropical, floral bits in the nose, bubblegum, some earthy and old leaves hop character.

50cl bottle from the Home Brew Shop, Aldershot. A brilliant golden amber appearance with a trace of white head; earthy, malty aroma; straightforward malty flavour; lighlty hopped finish. Exactly what a bitter shourld be like.

Cask at the "Meet the Brewer" evening at La Gothique, Wandsworth Common, 4th Dec 09. Hazy amber looks. Aroma of cola cubes and cough sweets. Rather malty. Has the Ballard ’house’ character - similar to Wassail. Toffee malt tastes are balanced by a pronounced bitterness. Right weight and packs a lengthy finish. A best bitter that challenges the palate rather than mollycoddles it.

Bottle from Sainsbury, tried at ölföreningens english ale test. A welldone bitter, frutis, caramelmalts and hops in good balance. Rather dry finish.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 08. Amber colour with disappearing bubbly head. Standard best bitter aroma, some toffee, candy sugar and earthy hop. Standard, but tasty, good bitterness on finish. Good balance, decent condition, very drinkable best bitter. Also featured on The Market Kitchen on UK TV.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at Le Gothique.
A lovely copper colour with a thin but lasting bubbly white head. A straight forward drop of best really. Faint dusky sour notes, nice chalky dry feel with a good bitterness. Pleasant caramel in the finish with a pronounced nutty note. Fairly standard but very pleasant, even though it is growing old it’s still doing well. A decent best bitter.

Cask at Market Porter, LondonNew cask. Beautiful dark amber color; small creamy head; lace. Medium malty example, a lot of caramel, well bitter, fresh.

This is quite fruity for a bitter. The bottle conditioning gives the beer a sparkle and the hops a good fininsh.
