Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.

Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100804]

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2005] The hand writen pump clip read: "Ballard Golden Bine II" - I wonder if that is because it was a 3.8% ABV, which is lighter than the 4.2%, that it is listed under here. Anyways the brewery homepage sets it at 3.8% - so it must be the same beer. A hazy orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is of minerals - reminds me of the Lithuanian beers Josh and Per brought to RBESG in 2004, but the aroma also contains notes of sulphur - a little like a mild. The flavor is malty with the same notes of minerals, with a dry end and a thin body.

From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and slight herbal. Sweet malty and citrusy. Bitter and slight fruity into the finish.

Cask@GBBF2010. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, spruce, nectar and mildly herbal notes. Flavour is quite uch the same in a nice balance.

Bottled, labelled Museum Beer. Hazy golden. Aroma of mashed apples. Sweet, thin and metallic with fizzy, sharp mouthfeel.

Cask at Charlies. Clear golden coloured with a white head. Fruity aroma of malts and hops. Fruity flavour of malts and hops. Light hoppy finish. Rather mediocre beer.

Cask. good citric and sour aroma. Hazy dark golden colour. The flavour has a good cleansing bitterness. Very good and refreshing.

Cask gravity at SIBA BF, Paddock Wood. Pale gold, watery in mouth. Horrible. ON the turn perhaps. Just about the worst beer of an excellent festival.

Cask @ Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. pours a pale golden color with a small white head. Fruity malty and slightly hoppy aroma. Sweet malty bitter hoppy flavor. Sweet malty finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask Handpump at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 04/08/2010 Fruit and some hop aromas. Golden coloured and a little hazy in appearance. Fruity and hoppy with a hint of dryness in a bitter malt finish.
