[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2005] The hand writen pump clip read: "Ballard Golden Bine II" - I wonder if that is because it was a 3.8% ABV, which is lighter than the 4.2%, that it is listed under here. Anyways the brewery homepage sets it at 3.8% - so it must be the same beer. A hazy orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is of minerals - reminds me of the Lithuanian beers Josh and Per brought to RBESG in 2004, but the aroma also contains notes of sulphur - a little like a mild. The flavor is malty with the same notes of minerals, with a dry end and a thin body.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Battersea Beer Festival on 10 February 2011. One of those beers I assumed I’d rated before but apparently hadn’t. Gold with a haze but good condition. Slight bubblegum aroma. Biscuity on the palate. Some decent resiny hops. Maybe a little sweet but quite enjoyable.

Cask-conditioned at the Sussex beer festival, Seven Stars, Bristol 6/1/11. Fruity aroma with some orange blossom hops and dusty cereal malts. Flavour had slightly jammy fruit, chewy malts and a decent bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at the Prince of Wales North Farnborough. A hazy golden colour with a white head. Very much as a citrus aroma, the taste is again all citrus with a very dry bitter finish. The finish has to much of a citrus bitter taste for me.
