500ml bottle purchased in London. Deep murky burgundy color. Highly effervescent and pours with a nice head. Yeasty and spicy, and comes off creamy and enjoyable on the tongue like a good Belgian beer. An awesome beer.

A Mes rate: bottle from "Down by the Budgens".
Enjoyng this but I’m sure that has a lot to do with me digging out Johnny Guitar Watson clips on you tube... "I Wanna Ta Ta You" best love tune of all time? Anyway... A straight down the line good old drop of English. Good malt, good hops, very well balanced and a lovely lick of caramel and spice. Well pitched dusky bitterness. Nice sharp finish. Nice.

Bottle bought at a tourist information centre near Hadrian’s Wall. Aroma is sweetish with caramel malts and some citrus. Hazy, orange coloured with an off-white head. Taste os sweet and quite fruity. It has caramel and toffee maltiness. Bitter bite. Good beer.

500ml bottle (EH Shop)
Reddy orange, healthy tight creamy persistent head. Huge sweet raisiny and winey aroma. Pleasantly carbonated, succulent mouthfeel. Very rich malty taste, slightly nutty and grainy. Very reminiscent of many belgian ales, but a little hoppier than most. Alcohol is detectable, but helps carry the bitter hops and sweet fruity malt vapours up the nose. Excellent brew.

Bottled. Orange-red, small white head. Fruity aroma, kiwi. Taste quite full, but is a bit harsh. Taste like a strong belgian ale, but a bit less full than many of them.

Cask. Hazy brown colour, very small head. Sweetish, vinous flavour, quite malty. Fruity and nicely rough hoppiness, some berry. Low carbonation. Tastes a bit of high ABV.
