3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2014 12 ounce bottle (Enjoy by 11/10/2010) poured into a tulip. Pours an opaque apricot yellow with a finger of off-white head. Light webby lacing. Aromas of caramel, sweet candied fruit, nutty, bread, citrus. Tasting notes of bitter grapefruit, pine, wheat, bread. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Obviously the hops have fallen apart but it’s still somewhat drinkable.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Resiny nose with a very slight corny-vegetable off-flavor. Pleasant slightly oily body. Bitterness was a little hard and astringent, with bitter finish. Flavorful, but didn’t quite work for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sun Devil Liquor bottle. Pours a slightly hazy brown-orange color with a small white head and no real lacing. Fruity aroma but also some darker molasses in there too; interesting. Definitely some bitterness in the flavor and again some molasses like bite. Lingering bitterness in the finish. Pretty big flavor for a small ABV.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very cloudy orange/brown pour with half inch white head. Smells like sweet honey and floral hops, sweet and delicious. Light carbonation, watery mouthfeel. Salty seemingly tropical or sandy finish. Lots of floral hops and biscuity malt. Flavor is overall melon-like quality with some nice bitterness and sour. Mild cool slightly sour easy drinking session ale with unique, bright quality. Pretty complex session ale, very nice.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Backlogged review, tasted in 2011 i believe. Poured murky light brown with ok head. Aromas of hay, lemon, grass, and pine. Taste was a lot more astringent then the aroma, wasn’t a fan. Medium bodied. Think this wasn’t as fresh as it could’ve been. 3.2

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Orane hazy body. Fizzy white head. Well balanced aroma of citrus and malts. Well balanced bitter aroma of bitter hops. Excellent, especially for its abv.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very aromatic and the best part of the beer. I like the description as it is true to form. This was like an IPA that had a low enough alcohol content to make it perfect for most occasions. Great piney hops aroma. Dirty golden color with foamy head. First hit by hops then malty grains. A little one sided but still good. Palate was thin.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of substantial resin/pine and butterscotch maltiness. Appearance was cloudy copper with thin bone head. Flavor matched the nose; the finish was quite dry. Palate was bubbly and fluffy. Good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle $4. I was quite interested to try this collaboration to see how hoppy it really was. They are not fucking around, this is a very, very hoppy beer no matter the ABV. The smell is all grapefruit, citrus, straight hops, very nice. The taste was more of the same but also super bitter, almost too bitter but there really is no such thing. This is a great beer for hopheads but I’d say its no session beer just because it really assaults your palate and its not cheap. Levitation is still the best hoppy session beer I know of.
