This was the best bacon flavored beer that I’ve ever had! Well-balanced and enjoyable from the nose to the finish. Well done!

Arrives from the tap with a frothy, almost half-finger thick, pale amber tinged, tan colored head. The beer is a dark amber color with a bright, clear hue to it. The aroma has a nice, smooth, rich smokiness that seems to be beechwood smoke in derivation. There isn’t a whole lot of base beer character noticeable underneath the omnipresent smokiness. A subtle, grainy, pale caramelized malt character comes out a touch as the beer warms up.

This has a zippy, prickly carbonation, a touch of viscosity to it so that it isn’t overly light and in fact gets a bit chewier in my second sip. There is a fat smokiness here that is supported by a subtly sweet, savory accentuating malt character that supplies a bit of lingering, lightly toasted grain / malt character. Touches of caramelized malt serve as an accentuating, though balancing smoothness for the dominant smoke flavors so that it doesn’t unbalance the flavor profile; of course this assumes that you enjoy smoky beer. There is an almost nuttiness to this beer at time, it sort of reminds me of a smoked almond in some ways.

Amply smoky, perhaps a touch simplistic, but it is exactly what I was hoping for when I ordered this. You will of course have to really like smoked beers to like this, and I really like that they stayed away from the alternate smoked malts; so many of the newer (and peat too) smoked malts get harsh and weird tasting.

Draft. Amber-brown beer with a dark cream head. Smoke and malt aroma. Caramel and bacon flavor with sweet malt and light smoke. Medium bodied. Caramel and sweet malt linger with bacon and light fruitiness.

Pours a clear brown with a slowly fading off white head nice retention and nice lacing ESP for a lager. Lightly smoky aroma with a lightly toasty nose and some faint light fruits... Flavor follows suit to a t lively medium body with a nice smokiness that never becomes overbearing... And the subtle fruitiness Compliments the smoke very well. Aroma is a little light

Pours a deep ambe/chestnut...clear...medium white head...nice lacing. Aroma is malty with earthy light roastiness...mild smoke. Flavor has the perfect amount of smoke for the style...still a bit of earthy roastiness coming through. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is lightly smoked, dry, and lingering. Tasty!

Smoked is restrained on the aroma. Brownish with tan head ringing glass. Medium mouthfeel with chewy sweet malt. Smoke is a nice accompaniment as opposed to overpowering like many in style. Some banana on the finish. Pleasant.

Brown pour. Loads of wonderful smoked malt and toffee in the nose. Nice crisp flavor then smoke! Lots of well balanced smoke with this lager. I get the undertones of the beer without being killed by smoke. Nice.

On tap at Urge. Pours a amber-brown with almost no head. aroma is of smoke, wood, bacon, roasted malts, carmel, and some hops. flavor is of smoked wood and meat, roasted malt, carmel, and some bitter hops. has a medium body with a dry, fizzy moufheel and a dry bitter finnish. overall, a pretty nice smoked that is’nt too smoke dominated and has some other nice flavors going for it.
