Very dark amber color. Lots of chocolate, bready, a caramelly touch, a bit of cherries. Malty, a bit unbalanced, but not as great as expected, but still not bad. A touch on the sour side. A touch of bread in the finish.

Tap at Rattle N Hum for the Ballast Point Promo night with Joe and Zach. Pours an amber copper with an ok head. Slight butter in the aroma (tons in the flavor), caramel malts, toast, a bit sweet with grassy light hops. Flavor is light herbal, grassy hops, a big fat sweet malt profile with a slick and buttery middle and finish- Meh.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a light ruby-brown with a firm, off-white head. Pretty malty nose, some fruits. Very sweet flavor, plenty of caramel and deep maltiness. Medium in body with nice carbonation. Finishes sugary, a little sticky. A bit sweeter than the Oktoberfest brews I’m used to, and this is an OK thing.

Location: On tap at the Brewery, Linda Vista Location, 1/7/10

Overall Impression: This was a pretty solid Oktoberfest style beer. Not a huge variation off of what you would expect from the style, but solid, enjoyable, and well-made.

On tap @ the Linda Vista location. Clear copper orange with a small beige head, fair retention. Light caramel and toasted malts dominate with some lager yeast behind in the nose. I pick up a little ethanol in the flavor and lightly spicy hops. Bitterness peaks @ a 3, semi-dry. Moderate carbonation with a medium body. Not too bad.
