If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head, leaves some lacing on the glass. Aroma is muted some dank hops a little vegetal. Taste is bitter with some resiny citrusy hop flavor. Some toasty malt flavors in the background. Mouth feel is medium body with medium carbonation, hops coat your tongue a little. Overall its a nice IPA but could use more hop flavor and aroma. Maybe a fresher bottle.

Bottle. Has lost a bit of it’s smell during the trip to Australia I would imagine, but it is still hoppy enough and well balanced. Would like to try this fresh

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a hazy copper with a really thin bubbly head, aroma has a big citrus front with a sweetness right behind it, the flavor has a bright citrus and tropical fruitiness, lots of pineapple and mango, bitter in the finish but still balanced, light mouthfeel, good stuff.

a very good looking orange with a slight tinge of haze, a fair creamy-light green head. smell is fruity and sweet, mango, dried pineapple. up front and strong bitterness, grassiness, but with good malt flavours of honey, grain, still kinda harsh bitterness throughout the drink. body seems teeming with hop texture, medium body. i haven’t had an IPA in a while, but this one seems a little too harsh and coarsely bitter for the style. flavourful and reserved but not one i’d buy often.

I popped a bottle of this IPA with some delicious quesadillas made by my wife. I typically reach for a Sculpin when choosing a Ballast Point IPA. This beer is nearly as good. Scent is mostly floral with a touch of earthy citrus. Flavor has big hoppy bite that goes right to the line without crossing it. Finishes with a nice sweetness. Light medium body and well carbonated. Light bodied slightly metalic beer. Maybe bottle is too old, but this is quite sweet and quite bitter with a watery component. Not too great.

Mildly hazy orange with a foamy head, high carbonation and soapy lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, grapefruits, toffee, caramel malts and yeast. Flavor consists of strong piney hops, caramel malts, grapefruits, yeasts and an extremely bitter resiny aftertaste. Body is light but heavier on the carbonation. Decent but a little too bitter for my liking.

Looks..Light bright amber, sml head. Smells.. Slight stone & citrus fruits, light pine/resin, a little caramel. Tastes.. ’Big’ stone and citrus fruits, resin, piney, loads of caramel, hefty bitterness. What a surprise, bought this in a remote mining town from a mass chain store, was a chance beer and it was good.

Boa drinkability. Adorei!! 4.0 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
