If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

Probada tirada en Hot Bird, Brooklyn, New York. Color naranja opaco. Aroma cítrico como buena IPA. Cuerpo medio y un intenso dejo amargo en el paladar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 fl. oz. bottle from Club de Cervezas. Pours a bright and clear dark orange color with a medium white head that diminishes slowly and leaves a lingering sticky lacing. Classic West-Coast IPA aroma, obviously hoppy and spicy with heavy grapefruit, pine and resinous notes. Hints of cannabis, spearmint, green tea, custard apple and some flowers. More subtle than Sculpin, slightly less intense. Taste is bitter and extroverted. Moderate bitter-sweet fruity hints round up the chewy bitterness. The fruitiness becomes more apparent as this one warms up slightly. Finish is bitter and grapefruity, leaving a mellow aftertaste. Medium body, lively carbonated. Not over the top at all, but fine, well-crafted. I had a Coronado Idiot a couple of days ago, but this one is much more balanced. A great homage to one of the great Pacific Tuna species you can get on Easter Island. Should have gotten a fresh Big Eye piece to pair up with this fine IPA.

Pores a clear copper-golden with a short light tan head. Citrus, cream, and malt on the nose. Moderately thick mouthfeel. Some pleasant carbonation and hop heat. Sweet, tangy hop character getting bitter toward the finish. A bit of meaty quality is noted.

Dark hazy amber. Delicious pine, resin and citrus aromas, with strong honey malt throughout the background. Prominent grapefruit in the taste, along with heaps of pine and some grassy notes, along with doughy bread. Dry, bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good but more grapefruit than I normally like in an IPA.

Flaska delad med @msbrindbergs, tack! Klar bärnstensfärgad vätska med ljust skum. Doftar bra humligt med tydlig maltbas. Riktigt smarrig!

Dark hazy amber color, with floral/citrus aroma. Taste is piney with hints of citrus and even some rye. Leaves a bitter taste that leaves you wanting more.

Flaska, privatimporterad. Klar gyllenbrun i färgen med ett trevligt smutsvitt skum. Härlig muskig centennialdoft. Grapefrukt framträdande i smaken. Barsk beska som kanske känns lite ofräsch. Påminner en hel del om Sculpin, men lite "grövre" på något sätt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Medium amber and moderately heady pour with excellent clarity. An essence of caramel malts to begin but the pine hops introduce themselves fairly soon after that. Medium body. A hesitant malt sweetness at first that gives way to the pine and fuller hop bitterness at the end.

Big Eye - Ballast Point - bitter, bold, cloudy, amber red color, nose was o.k. but not overwhelming, nicely balanced with 7 ABV..., not my favorite one.....
