COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

BOD 241/14. Pours a very slightly hazy medium amber with a light dark ruby cast. As it warms, the chill haze disappears. Above average head volume and retention, world class lacing. Outstanding nose of sweet tropicals (pineapple, mango and tangerine) over caramel with a peppery note. Light medium body with a nice smooth texture that approaches slick. Well carbonated with a effervescent rush from the middle to the finish. The outstanding flavor profile is intense, very well balanced and complex in terms of hop flavor. It begins with a burst of blended hop flavor that separates into the tropical components as it fades into a caramel sweetness. Interestingly, a grapefruit rind flavor is also noted as it flows into the mild bitterness of the middle coupled with a pepper note. The finish is a slow fade from residual caramel sweetness into a rind like mild lingering bitterness.

Found 2 bottles in the singles section (1.60 each). This is a good looking glass of beer, smells terrific. Nice and foamy, spicy, some bitter, great hop after taste. Don’t mind being fish eyed when it concerns this beer.

Beautiful apricot-gold, smallish off-white head. Aroma of fruit and banana, flavor of grapefruit, resin, spicy hops, caramel, and fruit. Medium bodied and spicy, and quite boozy.

Pours a clear light golden with a thin white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of onion, resin and pine. Taste is not too sweet, well, balance seems to be more toward hops at least. Flavors of pine and citrus. It is bitter to a medium-high level and finish is of moderate length. Body is medium and carbonation medium-high. Overall a fine IPA but I think it is lacking a bit of aromatics for it to be great.

Pours dark orange/Amber with a smallish white head. Aroma is pine and full on caramel/malt. Taste is malty upfront with grapefruit/citrus/pine and then a strong bitterness. I like the finish to it. Solid
