If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

Bottle pours amber with a tightly knit foam head that leaves a copious amount of lacing. Slight pine and hope resin in the nose. Taste is a solid but not mind numbing bitterness, solid malt base with a hint of caramel. Pine, grapefruit, and tangerine last in the lingering finish. Body is solid.

Nice beer. Full bodied. Good balance. Hops are piney, some citrus. Medium malt balances well. Medium finish. Good stuff!

355 ml can, thanks czar! Pours a clear pale amber with a resilient white head. Aroma is citrus, bubble gum, pine tree. Flavor is fruits, citrus. Finish has a good grapefruit, lemon and lime bitter bite, which lingers on and on. Medium body, average carbonation. Solid.

Pour from bottle. Gently-opaque translucent honey-amber, moderate lacing. Aroma a minty pine hoppiness with grapefruit subtleties, fairly floral all together. Taste a bit more juicy citrus with the mint-pine cutting through. Low malt flavor, but still refreshing. Would buy again.

Dark/golden pour. Very hoppy/resinous taste with a piney finish. Very different from the infamous scuplin!

Bottle poured a deep golden hue w/ large lasting white head. Bold floral hop aromas. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a bold bitter finish. Tastes are pine, orange and lime. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355 ml bottle, from Fakta Hirtshals. BB date is hard to read, but probably 25.03.2014. Slightly hazy deep golden to amber colour, moderate to low head, slightly off-white. Strong and unpleasant aroma of stale orange marmalade and rotting fruits and vegetables. Distinctly hoppy and resinous flavour, better than the aroma, not too sweet, with a solid bitterness in the finish.

Clear golden with a thick white head. Aroma is grapefruit hops with just a hint of pine. Flavor is grapefruit again with a bit of dry pine hops in the finish. Very drinkable, and quite good with spicy food. Brings out the natural fruitiness. Could use a touch more malt to round out the body, it’s just a bit thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, citrus and grapefruit. Flavor was dry and bitter with pine, grapefruit, citrus, caramel and had a pale malty backbone.

Can, from a friend in San Diego. Aroma is big hops, citrusy sweet hops. Lots of them. Malt come out to play when it warms up. Really an excellent beer.
