3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
There are worse ways to pass the time, whilst being ’snowed in’ in SE QLD, than sucking this beer down. A classic of the US genre; full flavoured, resin hops with some thickness, dark spicey fruits. Seems a bit more bold than its 7% suggests. Cracking value in Australia at about $5 and competes very well with the SN Torpedo.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
An IPA done by the books and done right. This pours a glowing bright orange and has a thin head that leaves lace in rings and patches. At nearly seven percent, this is getting on the big side for an IPA but that’s OK because it drinks big too. It has a great big hop nose w/ loads of citrus and grape. The defining point of its flavor is a strong earth, herbal bitterness w/ just a touch of a mineral note in its long finish. There is a slight bit of sweetness but it’s mostly overridden by the bitterness and just serves to create a fuller body. I feel like my first comment in this review might be taken as faint praise but I mean it as a sincere compliment. This is a great beer and one every hop head should seek out.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted from bottle. Pours a beautiful amber with white head. Great lacing. Strong pine and floral hop aroma. Some citrus notes. Taste is definitely bitter with pine, earth and floral taste. Not much citrus taste. Long bitterness on the end. Medium bodied. Not quite as balanced as some of the best IPAs. Very good IPA but not as good as some of the legendary IPAs I’ve recently had. Hopslam, Two hearted, Ale Smith, Cigar City Jai Alai, Dogfish head, and Three Floyds are all way better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a great beer. I had it on draft which poured darker than most IPAs, very similar to an imperial. The aroma was hoppy. The taste was full if hops and not much malt. My favorite profile for an IPA.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A great example of an IPA with lovely flora aromas. A cloudy copper colour with a nice full flavoured taste. A very long lasting bitterness on the palate. Unfortunately this particular sample is not in its prime and hope that a fresh tasting can occur one day. Even though this beer has travelled to Australia it is a wonderful and enjoyable beer, especially at 7pc

Tasted on tap at Quenchers in Chicago. It poured a clear amber with a white head. Orangey citrus-hop aroma and big hop taste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can, picked up at Antenna America in December & served in a tulip type glass. Crazy gusher of a can pouring a clear light copper with a BIG thick head of beige foam. The aroma is piney, floral, slightly earthy/spicy, very very nice stuff. Medium-bodied with a smooth palate the taste is bitter pine, earthy then crackers before veering back to a mouth-puckering bitterness with just a touch of citrus like grapefruit pith in the aftertaste. Very strong beautiful hop bouquet but the taste is slightly less complex. A really solid IPA nonetheless.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Delicious IPA with a slightly metallic aftertaste. Aroma is amazingly hoppy and the pour is absolutely beautiful...crystal clear amber with a nice thick white head.
