COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

A good IPA. Bitter. Pours darkish amber with good netting. Finish is sustained but body is a little lacking for the bitterness. I would go with a more contrasting IPA (Racer 5?) in its place.

Bottle pour. Hazy golden-amber color with thin head. Weak floral and citrus nose. Taste of orange peel, apricots, pine needles, and light notes of sweet malt. Decent weight for an IPA. Builds into a nicely balanced hoppy aftertaste which, combined with the weight, makes this pleasantly sippable. If I had to describe it in a single word I’d go with "balanced"; There’s no glaring flaws or unbalanced flavors here, but I’d almost call it TOO plain and inoffensive. Can’t complain too loud at the price I got it at though, since unlike Sculpin this won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Would probably buy again if the store didn’t have anything hoppier.

On draft. Amber with orange tint with one finger head. Citrus aroma. Citrus and floral taste. Pretty good IPA.

This beer pours a very slight hazy orange-amber color with a two-finger off white head that left a good amount of lacing around the glass. The aroma is floral, hops, citrus, and pine. The taste is an earthy hop, pine, with some mild citrus and some pepper in there as well. The mouthfeel is on the full body side. There is quite a bit of hop bitterness at the end.

Smells of citrus and pine. Tastes like bitter orange marmalade on Sunday morning, sweet apricot, pine and meadow flowers. Full bodied. I love this beer.

By pouring in tulip enchants with an amber tint medium and opaque shade emerging a white and foamy cream. The aroma is a fascinating and distinctive herbal hops, where I noticed passion fruit notes, pine, orange, an aroma sweetened by the malt. The taste is striking and has a balanced touch of malt and hops that develops slowly finishing a Big Hope with an average sweetness, a touch of apricot. Clearly emerges a spicy herbaceous flavor with an almost astringent delicious bitterness that remains on the palate where we can feel a burst of ingredients on the tongue and palate. Medium body, medium carbonation, passes a thickness of feeling on the palate and long finish. Say has a soft start and bitter finish. A general note is a classic IPA in a beautiful, consistent with the packaging weight content. A remarkable beer. A classic in my eyes and mouth!

Very sweet with a strong fruity flavor. A bit floral but not overpoweringly so.Very well balanced and smoother. No harsh bitterness or stiff flavors.

Pours medium amber, nice frothy off white head. Herbal hop aroma. Flavor is balanced malt and herbal hops, that develops slowly into a big hop finish. Peppery, grassy notes. The big feature is the palate - you can feel the richness of ingredients on your tongue... a chewiness. A full bodied IPA, comparable go some doubles. Overall, classic IPA flavor profile on a big frame. (This is a classic, their Grunion is a creation.)

Solid IPA indeed. Hoppy flavor with some fruity overlay. Not too pricy selling for around $10.00 a six pack.

Bottle. Amber pour with modest white head. Classic citrus pine aroma. Taste is grapefruit with malt and hint of caramel. Not overly bitter for an IPA decent
