COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

Bottle. Pours a Red-Brown Colour, with a very small off white head> Aroma- Weak Aroma’s of pine and citrus. Taste- Dominated by pine flavours, with some grapefruit flavours and other citrus flavours i can’t quite specify, finished with a lingering hoppy bittyness. Palate- Smooth on the palate with good alround mouth feel. Overall- A decent ipa, not as good as a Siera Nevada but it gives me excitement with future ipa’s i plan to drink down the track, as my experience with these beers is really quite limited.

A classic west coast IPA. Big citrus notes on the nose. The hefty IBUs fill the palate with orange and peach, following through with a big bitter finish.

Bottle - pours deep hazy orange with a big white head. Sweet malt, orange, stone fruit, berries and leather, lots going on with the aroma, changes down the glass as it warms a bit. Bitter upfront then the hit of orange and malt and a bitterness at the side of the tongue . Mouthfeel is creamy.

12 oz single bottle from Roths Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem. $2.00 Clear burnished orange colour with a nice half inch thick creamy off white head. Nice spicy, fruity hop aromas.Slighly toffee like malts. Taste is better than the aroma, thick caramel/toffee malt flavours vie with nice spicy/piney hops..nice. Nice mouth feel also its quite heavy for style but its very inviting on the tongue and the long lasting hop after taste is welcome. Very nice IPA. This might sound crazy, but I am beginning to see a slight split in IPAs from S.Cali and those from N.Cali,Oregon and WA.

12 oz bottle, bottled June 5th 2014, poured into a pint glass. Appearance-Pours a clear golden orange with a pinky of off white head that leaves moderate lacing. Looks nice. Aroma-This beer is fruit forward. Typical tropical fruit IPA flavors are there. Pineapple, mango, and oranges. There is resin and slight alcohol as well. Taste-Up front I am hit with an instant blast of pine resin. There are juicy citric flavors, most notably grapefruit, with a bit of caramel sweetness to round it out. Palate-It is somewhat juicy to start and finishes very dry. Overall-This is a good IPA. The alcohol is a bit too high to make it a session beer, but I could go for a few anytime.
