COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

A great easy drinking IPA. Might be too bitter for someone who doesn’t enjoy the style but I found the hoppiness to be mild. It had some great pine and citrus aromas. Slightly sweet flavor up front that gives way to the awesome bitterness.

Pour from bottle. Gently-opaque translucent honey-amber, moderate lacing. Aroma a minty pine hoppiness with grapefruit subtleties, fairly floral all together. Taste a bit more juicy citrus with the mint-pine cutting through. Low malt flavor, but still refreshing. Would buy again.

Dark/golden pour. Very hoppy/resinous taste with a piney finish. Very different from the infamous scuplin!

Bottle poured a deep golden hue w/ large lasting white head. Bold floral hop aromas. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a bold bitter finish. Tastes are pine, orange and lime. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355 ml bottle, from Fakta Hirtshals. BB date is hard to read, but probably 25.03.2014. Slightly hazy deep golden to amber colour, moderate to low head, slightly off-white. Strong and unpleasant aroma of stale orange marmalade and rotting fruits and vegetables. Distinctly hoppy and resinous flavour, better than the aroma, not too sweet, with a solid bitterness in the finish.

Clear golden with a thick white head. Aroma is grapefruit hops with just a hint of pine. Flavor is grapefruit again with a bit of dry pine hops in the finish. Very drinkable, and quite good with spicy food. Brings out the natural fruitiness. Could use a touch more malt to round out the body, it’s just a bit thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, citrus and grapefruit. Flavor was dry and bitter with pine, grapefruit, citrus, caramel and had a pale malty backbone.

Draft. Medium amber body with little head. Moderately hippy, citrusy with a bright lingering sweetness.

Can, from a friend in San Diego. Aroma is big hops, citrusy sweet hops. Lots of them. Malt come out to play when it warms up. Really an excellent beer.

Poured from the bottle into a snifter. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with a small white head. Aroma is comprised of pine, citrus, resin, and floral notes. Taste has a nice balance of all the aromas. Dry on the end without being overly bitter, medium bodied beer with a moderate amount of carbonation and a sticky mouth feel. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Cooper with tan head. Aroma of pineapple, ethanol, but mostly pine. Caramel and charted malt flavors, some apricot. Some sweetness up front. Bitter bitter pine finish.
