COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

On tap at Ballast Point Brewery. Served in a tulip. Pours clear amber. Classic bold California IPA notes of grapefruit and pine resin on the nose but there are also hints of sweet malt and exotic floral aromas. Long well balanced finish that screams San Diego IPA!

Very sweet with a strong fruity flavor. A bit floral but not overpoweringly so.Very well balanced and smoother. No harsh bitterness or stiff flavors.

Pours medium amber, nice frothy off white head. Herbal hop aroma. Flavor is balanced malt and herbal hops, that develops slowly into a big hop finish. Peppery, grassy notes. The big feature is the palate - you can feel the richness of ingredients on your tongue... a chewiness. A full bodied IPA, comparable go some doubles. Overall, classic IPA flavor profile on a big frame. (This is a classic, their Grunion is a creation.)

Solid IPA indeed. Hoppy flavor with some fruity overlay. Not too pricy selling for around $10.00 a six pack.

Bottle. Amber pour with modest white head. Classic citrus pine aroma. Taste is grapefruit with malt and hint of caramel. Not overly bitter for an IPA decent

Bottle from Costco. Fruity hops and spicy melanoidin aroma with notes of stone fruit and pine. Clear red-orange under a persistent, lacy, off-white blanket. Sweet and spicy caramel flavour with apricot and pine resinous hops that develops into a nearly astringent bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation, smooth start and bitter finish.

One of some that like this better than sculpin...this is not a huge musty dimension hop deal but a perfect use of pine and grassy hops that make thus a perfect standard SD IPA, great crisp mouthfeel, great hoppy flavor all around.
