If you have fallen for the IPA style like we have, Big Eye will be a welcome addition to your repertoire. You’ll revel in Big Eye’s bitter, hoppy flavor thanks to the American Columbus and Centennial hops that are used to flavor and dry hop our flagship IPA. We thank our hops every day that the English loved their bitters—or else the IPA style may not have been born to help the beer survive the journey from Cape Hope to India back in the 18th century.

Big citrus pine immediate hoppy taste that lingers on the sides of your tongue for minutes. Actually tastes smoother when it slightly warms. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

12 oz bottle from 2012 notes. Pours clear amber with a towering, over-size, and surprisingly thick head. Plenty of sticky lacing left on the glass. A: sweet malt; spicy hops, herbs and alcohol esters. T: Herbal and spicy hops dominate the flavor, although a solid malt base is easily detected. Not aggressive or particularly bitter for style, but has adequate hop flavor and presence. M: medium body; nicely smooth and well carbonated. O: Centrist in style but at the same time, unique due to the particular mix of malts and hops. I appreciate the quality here but prefer IPAs that are at least a little more fruity.

Pours a beautiful amber color. Tastes bitter and of the finest hops. Decent lacing and minimal head. A dangerously wonderful session ipa at nearly 7%!

A classic west coast IPA. Big citrus notes on the nose. The hefty IBUs fill the palate with orange and peach, following through with a big bitter finish.

Bottle - pours deep hazy orange with a big white head. Sweet malt, orange, stone fruit, berries and leather, lots going on with the aroma, changes down the glass as it warms a bit. Bitter upfront then the hit of orange and malt and a bitterness at the side of the tongue . Mouthfeel is creamy.

12 oz single bottle from Roths Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem. $2.00 Clear burnished orange colour with a nice half inch thick creamy off white head. Nice spicy, fruity hop aromas.Slighly toffee like malts. Taste is better than the aroma, thick caramel/toffee malt flavours vie with nice spicy/piney hops..nice. Nice mouth feel also its quite heavy for style but its very inviting on the tongue and the long lasting hop after taste is welcome. Very nice IPA. This might sound crazy, but I am beginning to see a slight split in IPAs from S.Cali and those from N.Cali,Oregon and WA.
