3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 oteyj (1882) - USA - MAY 22, 2010
Clear hazy orange-amber pour with a one finger off white foamy head. The aroma is evident upon uncapping, but it ever so delectable when actually sniffed. Citrus is simply massive- tons of orange and grapefruit with hints of orangepeel. The hop character rounds out with a nice floral grass arrangement that leaves the nose quivering for more. The malt character is very caramel oriented with some biscuit, toffee, and toast coming in as well. The flavor is a bit more malt heavy that the aroma would suggest, but the balance is wondrous. Lots of sweeter citrus including sugared grapefruit, orange, and even some tropical fruit notes. More grass and herbal notes as well, but they are suitably overwhelmed by the massive citrus character. Tons of caramel and toffee round out the malt character and present an excellently balancing sweetness. The palate is medium to full for the style with a velvety caressing mouthfeel and a resinous finish. Yummmm.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 JStax (834) - Devola, Ohio, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Appearance is a nice copper with a sticky white head of foam about half an inch thick. Nice retention. Not much in the way of lacing. The aroma is grapefruit and orange peel. Some breadiness comes through as well. Taste is a great mix of bitterness, pungency, sweetness, peppercorn spice. Super drinkable. I rseally like this beer.

A good, yellow IPA that’s rather new in Texas. A good dose of hops for a bit of pine flavor and a slight bit of sweetness.

Hazy amber orange pour, with a small dissipating. Nose is all citrus and pine. Taste full of flavor, nice bitterness but not maddening so ! Finishes smooth with some lasting bitterness, easily drinkable and quite refreshing IPA. Quaff Score ( drinkability with hearty enjoyment ) 8 / 10

Pours a golden amber with an off white head and strong aroma of hops and citrus. Taste is very hoopy, of grass, pine, and citrus with a heavy bitter, dry finish. Nice, strong hoppy IPA, delicious.

650ml bottle from Brewdog shop. Poured hazy orange with a frothy, lasting white head, nice lacing. Aroma has tropical fruity hoppy and caramel malt. Flavor has sweet malt, hops, tropical fruits and great dry bitterness. Not very fresh example I think, but still quite enjoyable.

On tap at Petco Park Ballast Point cart. Pours a amber with little head. aroma is of light citrus and some pine, with a little bready malts. flavor is bitterly hopped with fresh cut pine, grapefruit rinds, bready malts, and some caramel. Has a medium body with a nice creamy mouthfeel and a dry, bitter, long finish. overall, a nice ipa from BA that is a nice beer to drink while watching the padres.
