On tap at Old Grove. Pours a pitch black with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, bakers chocolate, peppers, coffee, and some earthiness. Taste is spicy upfront with a lot of earthy chipotle, dark chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Has medium full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a spicy, earthy finish. overall,a very interesting and tasty version of Black Marlin.

Pours a brownish black with a tan head and nice lacing. aroma is of coco, coffee, smoke, and pepper. flavor is of roasted malts, coco, coffee, smoked pepper, and some earthyness. Has a medium body with a creamy mouthfeel and a long, peppery finnish. overall, a very unique and tasty porter and my favorite of BA’s pepper beers.

Dark brown pour with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa, peppers and chocolate. Taste of roasted malts, unsweetened chocolate, hint of coffee, some earthiness, charcoal, and a chili pepper hotness on the finish, also powdered cocoa on the finish. Medium bodied, nice carbonation, a little too spicy on the finish for me.

On tap takeover at Cole’s in Buffalo. Dark pour with slight head only. Aroma is spicy. Taste is crazy hot and doesn’t go away quickly. The heat burns and lingers but is oddly appealing.

An enjoyable porter with an unexpected punch. The chilli is front and centre but is nicely balanced with the chocolate and coffee that fills out the finish.

Deep dark chestnut brown slight visibility but unable to see thorough. Smells of nut and pepper. Spice that slowly grows over a walnut hazelnut base. Warming.

On draft in Little Italy. Red/copper color with tan head. Nose is roast and spice. Flavor is dominated by spice, sharp and roasty with some smoke. Not really my style.

Tried this at The Hop at Beacon, NY...Went really well with their food offerings. The spicy kick was great...and the beer, though dark, was easier to drink than we expected. Got a growler to go, as I am not sure where to fine it in NYC
