On draft at bruery provisions. Reddish copper brown with tan head. Aroma is roasty and spicy. Taste is similar with nice sharp smoothness. Good stuff and not too spicy with a lil smoke.

On tap at Gingerman. Seriously WTF. I love Ballast Point but this is just drinking pepper sauce with a hint of cocoa. This is an extreme beer that is just not for me or 99 percent of beer drinkers. From a craft standpoint I don’t understand it.

Dark brown pour with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa, peppers and chocolate. Taste of roasted malts, unsweetened chocolate, hint of coffee, some earthiness, charcoal, and a chili pepper hotness on the finish, also powdered cocoa on the finish. Medium bodied, nice carbonation, a little too spicy on the finish for me.

An enjoyable porter with an unexpected punch. The chilli is front and centre but is nicely balanced with the chocolate and coffee that fills out the finish.

On tap takeover at Cole’s in Buffalo. Dark pour with slight head only. Aroma is spicy. Taste is crazy hot and doesn’t go away quickly. The heat burns and lingers but is oddly appealing.

Deep dark chestnut brown slight visibility but unable to see thorough. Smells of nut and pepper. Spice that slowly grows over a walnut hazelnut base. Warming.

On draft in Little Italy. Red/copper color with tan head. Nose is roast and spice. Flavor is dominated by spice, sharp and roasty with some smoke. Not really my style.

Draft. Pours nearly black with creme colored head that dissipates. Coffee aroma with mild carbonation. Coffee flavors with chipotle spice on the tongue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Ballast Point. Pours a dark brown with little to no head. Coffee, pepper and Chocolate aroma, very nice. Flavor is coffee, chipotle, chocolate and finishes with a huge bite from the pepper. Sensational!
