3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Foxbush (991) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - DEC 28, 2011This is my fifth beer of Christmas 2011. The porter is one of my favorite beer styles. This is good one. The Black Marlin poured a deep dark chocolaty color with smallish head that disipated to white collar around the glass. The porter had lively carbonation and a medium body. There was chocolate on the nose and taste. Smooth finish with no bitter aftertaste.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 EithCubes (4199) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 23, 2013
In honor of ... the Marlins’ black uniform tops? Nose is sweet, inky, dark roast. Pours deep brown-black with a jiggly tan head. Taste very sweet, dark (black) roast with a little tar, very watery body but a coating and creamy feel, dash of mocha and even mild licorice. Minimal hopping but there is a sense of balance. Light bitterness underneath, but lots of rich chocolate. If it were weaker I’d call it sessionable, but as it stands, somewhat insignificant; tooth-fuzzing sweetness reminiscent of industrial German Schwarzbiere.

Served on Nitro. Opaque brown black body, Thin, patchy beige head. Deep and rich, this is a really balanced, excellent Porter. Big roasty chocolate tone, but also a nice hop balance. Rich, woderfully executed. Phenomenal, World Class.

Loved it! Smooth, dark, rich taste. Wish I had bought more of them. A new favourite to have with a roast dinner.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 QuezXLV (372) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Nice nutty and roasted taste. A but earthy in the aroma. Not sure if this has to do with this being expired but its thinner on the palate than I would expect for a porter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 changeup45 (1560) - Mount Dora, Florida, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Bomber. Deep brown color with some reddish highlights and a thin tan head on top. The aroma is rather chocolaty; ash, toasty malt, and very light dark fruity notes mix in. The body is creamy but a shade on the thin side. The flavor shows bitter dark chocolate, sweet dark fruit, roasty-ashy malt, some sweet mocha, and dry bitter hops. The finished product is a touch sweet, but there’s enough bitterness and roast to counter most that. This isn’t great but it is a very solid, well-rounded, Porter. No complaints.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 junon (314) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - MAY 1, 2013
Nose is of faint chocolate and oats. Flavour is of mild bitterness with a tiny hint of citrus. Kind of poor finish though.
