Poured black with a super large head. Good roasted malt flavor, but somewhat thin-bodied. It was okay, but I usually expect more from a porter

Oct 11, 2008 KSBF 08 - Dark brown color. Roasted aroma. Big chocolate malt flavor with lots of roast. Rich and full with a dry finish. Hey, not horrible!

Oct 7, 2008 KSBF 08- Really dark brown pour with a small tan head. Roast coffee texture with dark chocolate notes. Slight dry cocoa finish, some sweetness. Decent.

Oct 5, 2008 On tap at KSBF ’08. Dark brown, nearly black with a tan head. Light smell of dark chocolate. Bitter chocolate dominates the flavor, a little dusty. Not bad.

Sep 1, 2008 Poured a dark brown with a small tan head. Nose was pretty choco-roasty, a little fruity. Taste is classic roasted malt with appropriate hop bitterness as backup. Initially I didn’t notice, but this one has quite a carbonation issue---a bit too much. The hops never quite make a statement in this...a bit too sweet in the end. .

Aug 31, 2008 Draft: pours a dark black with a tan head, aroma of roasted malt, taste is malty and bitter, medium body. Not bad.
