COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hoppy twist on the classic English Porter. Our Black Marlin Porter stands out in a town known primarily for its IPA’s. We craft it from a unique blend of roasted and crystallized malts that give it a smooth, chocolaty, caramel profile. Then toss in a healthy dose of American hops to serve up full-bodied flavor worthy of its San Diego roots.

A world class porter, the nose has a U.S. hop influence, while the finish is pure metallic porter. Fantastic

22 oz bomber into a pint glass. Purchased about 3 months ago, found it in the back of the fridge. Almost black in appearance with a big, lingering, light brown head and thick lacing. Aroma of roast, bitter chocolate, dark malts, light molasses and light caramel/toffee. Similar flavor, adding some anise and black licorice notes and a mild citrus/earthy hop bitterness. Medium body with a creamy feel. Solid porter overall.

Pretty deep brown pour w/ a big tan head that leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is subtle chocolate roast. The taste has a nice chocolaty sweetness up front & finishes a bit roasty & bitter in the end as a porter should. It’s a touch thin in body but otherwise a solid brew!

650ml bottle Pour is quite dark. Head dissolves rather fast, leaving behind a nice tan ring. Aromas of chocolate and faint coffee notes. First sip reveals more of same with carmel thrown in. Roast malt is dominant, but everpresent hops lends a hand. Not overwhelming. More of a go to staple.

Bottle, black body, big light tan head, great lace. Aroma is metal, toasted barley, some coffee and dark fruit. Taste is dark malt, metal, toasted barley, coffee, some dark fruit. Palate is just right for style, not heavy, but not watery either, creamy and smooth, carbonation slightly subdued. Finish is nicely dry. This is a proper Porter.

An impressive porter. Pours a rich black with a frothy, thick head. Lots of chocolate, coffee, and malted milk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
