3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Yamaichi. Medium-strength caramel nose, with a slight earthy note. Reddish-copper color, thin head. Bready, caramel initial / deep hefty hopping in mid / finish is balanced and a bit buttery. Medium body, with hops felt as a thick texture on the tongue. Rich flavors, which deliver on the promise of the aroma. Good stuff.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sweet caramel and brown sugar on the nose. Deep copper color, creamy head. Taste is more sweet caramel to start, finishing piney and actually quite bitter. Very nice and balanced.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours beautiful clear amber with a fluffy head. Nose is citrus, caramel malts, hoppy. Taste is citrus , pine resin, hops but balanced with a solid malt backbone. Definitely on the bitter side for a amber, not in ipa territory though. Very good amber

Copper, clear, beer with a beige, three finger high head. A lot of lacing on the glass.
Nose: Caramel malt, syrup, fudge, roasted malt and butter.
Taste: A creamy, sweet taste. Nuts and caramel. A touch of bitterness in the end. A great Amber Ale!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz Bottle.
Copper pour pushing bronze. Big foamy tan head. Like a San Diego ESB, I guess. Fruity almost sour aromas, tons of caramel malt, amply hopped even for the West Coast. First few sips I wasn’t impressed, but I’m enjoying it in a sessiony way as I get further into the glass. Certainly interesting, maybe even pretty darn good.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The ESB influence is very obvious in the taste. Dark copper color and roasted malt and alcohol aroma. Taste is roasted malt and dry hops bitterness with that ESB twist. This isn’t my favorite style, and the ESB twist doesn’t do much for me. This is well done, no doubt, just not for me. 12 oz bottle from Archer Liquors in Chicago.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at CBM Awajicho. Dark amber colour, golden head. Aroma is lightly spicy, bit of funk, light cat pee, citrus, nice and hoppy. Taste is great, somewhere between a brown ale spiciness and citrusy ipa. Bit of sour cream and chive, grapefruit. Really nice.
