A rich, copper ale with a case full of gold medals.
Our California Amber takes its inspiration from traditional English ESBs. Four types of malts give it a bold complexity, and our proprietary yeast strain lends it a fruity, madeira-like richness. However, it’s the American hops that give this ale a distinct bite and floral aroma that have earned it just about every major beer medal.

beautiful appearance of clear amber colour and huge creamy yellowish-beige-ish head; aroma of grape, bread, oatmeal biscuit with dried fruits, some grapefruit, floral-honey notes and maybe some peach notes; taste is the same with walnut notes; just simply amazing beer!

Aroma is slightly grassy/floral. Pours dark amber/mahogany with a very thick, fluffy tan head. Leaves a very long lasting lacing. Sweet malt taste up front, but the end finishes with a hop bitterness. Insure the type of hop(s), but I was getting a slight pine with a bit stronger orange peel flavor in it. Creamy mouthfeel which I think makes the bitterness at the end stand out more (contrast). I very much enjoy this.

The aroma is pretty active. It’s like malt and hops, but there’s a sweet fruit note in there, too. Oranges? Apricots? The head leaves much behind on the glass. The brew is a little darker amber than most ambers. The taste is quite alive with hops, orange peels, and grapefruit. Very vibrant and enjoyable. The palate is well treated. The carbonation doesn’t slap you around and the aftertaste is minimal. This is a fantastic session brew.

Solid amber…or ESB-thing. Murky amber colored. Malt sweetness hits upfront but has a nice sharp bitter finish. Balanced between the two. Good stuff.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Copper, amber, heady pour. Rich malt and caramel sweetness on the nose. Medium to above medium body. Bold malt sweetness in the taste with a mild bitterness to finish it off. True to the ESB style.
