Bottle @ Brewdog, Edinburgh. Pours dark amber to orange with some head. The nose and taste is dominated by a sweet maltiness that reminds me of cake mixture. There’s also something fruity in there that might be stewed apples or raisins. The palate is well balanced - nice medium bodied with some sweetness on the middle section and a nice clean hoppy finish. Overall, very enjoyable.

Tap. Pours medium amber with creamy beige head. Aroma is cereal and caramel malts, figs, raisins, floral hops, and light grassy notes. Flavor is balanced dry, bready malts and hop bitterness with some dark fruit esters and caramel sweetness; dry finish. Light/medium body and low carbonation.

Poured from a bottle, San Diego. Mild sweet aroma. Medium amber color, modest head. Mildly bitter, otherwise pretty unremarkable. A light drinking beer, pleasant and refreshing, with no negative characteristics, but otherwise forgettable.

22oz bottle. Pours a clear deep reddish copper color with a thick two fingered head that retains well. A pronounced aroma of caramel and biscuit malt along with soft piney hops. The taste is malty sweet with the hops complimenting nicely and adding additional sweetness before fading into a lingering bitterness. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with only a tad bit of dryness.

12 ounce bottle. Copper color, molasses and dry fruit aroma. Tastes include caramel, figs, malts, and some acidity. Palate is medium bodied, smooth, and easy to drink. Overall a very good amber that’s more abundantly flavored than most others within the style.

This is one of the best amber ales I’ve had. Malty, caramelly base with some subtle citrus and other spicings. Sessionable.

Deep red-orange color, with a decent, slushy head. Pleasant, mild hop aroma. with a sweet, caramelly balance. Some English ale stuff going on. Doesn’t sting the nostrils, exactly, but doesn’t offend either. Flavor is very sweet, English-style malts; caramel and toffee. There is a nice, woody, bitter Euro hop that kicks in. There is a sting on the palate that is reminiscent of Ringwood yeast. Whether it’s brewed that way, I don’t know, but it has that feint hint of it. It’s just fine for a reasonable price. It’s a European amber style, and a pretty decent one.

Sweetish amber ale. Lotsof caramel and dried fruits, cloying at times. Okay.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a slightly off white creamy head. Aroma of mild hops and caramel malt. Taste is very malty up front, with a slight fruity aftertaste.
