3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: nutty, toffee/caramel aromas dominate. Appearance: crystal clear and lives up to the amber moniker. Taste: the malt flavor is center stage followed up by big bitterness to reign in the malt. Palate: middle of the road, moderate effervescence and body. Overall: I prefer my Ambers pretty hoppy so this one isnít quite for me but still itís a well made amber.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. No code date. Appearance: Deep amber red and clear, with a khaki head.
Aroma: caramel, toasty malt hits the nose, with some floral and herbal hop notes.
Taste: Caramel and toffee maltiness dominate, with a crisp, balancing bitterness. Hints of floral hops, but maltiness dominates with some vinous qualities.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with a sharp carbonation.
Finish: Floral hop bitterness perfectly balances the rich caramel maltiness. Very dry.
Overall: A really nice drinking English pale/American Amber hybrid.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Look: pours a dark Amber. Off white head. Very clear.
Smell: very heavy tropical fruit. Pineapple. Mango. Passion fruit. Bubble gum.
Taste: bubble gum. Passion fruit. Pineapple.
Feel: dry up front. Hop forward. Leaves a thick film in the mouth.
Overall: ok beer. Looking for more citrus than tropical fruit. But still a good beer.
First drank: home 4/13/15

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This pours a deep amber color with a slight foamy head. The aroma is strong with sweet malts. The taste is simple, malty, and very easy drinking.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Like an ESB, but a little smoother and more palatable. Enjoyable, but not my fave from this (great) brewery.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer pours a clear amber color with a lot of streaming bubbles and a medium two-finger off white head that had great retention and left a good amount of lacing around the glass. The aroma is dark fruits, raisins, some mild spices, and earthy hops. The taste is similar to the aroma. The mouth feel is on the light to medium side.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a brownish amber with a head somewhere between off-white and tan. Floral hop aroma up front. Fades a bit during the session lending to more caramel and biscuit aromas. Caramel malt flavour with some alcohol as it warms. Medium bodied with a rich mouthfeel and an off-sweet finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A rich, copper ale with a case full of gold medals. Our Calico Amber Ale takes its inspiration from traditional English ESBs. Four types of malts give it a bold complexity, and our proprietary yeast strain lends it a fruity, madeira-like richness. However, itís the American hops that give this ale a distinct bite and floral aroma that have earned it just about every major beer medal.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle from Tipsyís into a pint glass. Amber appearance with a lacy beige head. Nice rounded malty flavor, mild sweetness balanced by a mild hop bitterness, of the fruity and floral variety. Solid amber ale.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Large sample pour of caramel amber with a decent sized white head. Nose is caramel malts and paired with a citrus note, not too bitter though. Flavor follows, caramel and biscuity malts with again more citrus note.... Honestly, for a highly rated amber, I kinda wanted more... Itís not bad, itís just not anythin really spectacular.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a semi - dark red color with a slight transparency about it allowing a light carbonation to be seen rising. A one finger white foamy head dissipated within about a minute leaving some messy lacing roaming all about.
The smell had a slight sweet caramel roasted nutty glossed over maltiness about it.
The taste was basically the same as the aroma leaving a nice thick caramel malty aftertaste. A dry sweet finish ends off the taste.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good for the style and for me. It was mostly smooth.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good American Amber / Red ale.
