COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, copper ale with a case full of gold medals.
Our California Amber takes its inspiration from traditional English ESBs. Four types of malts give it a bold complexity, and our proprietary yeast strain lends it a fruity, madeira-like richness. However, itís the American hops that give this ale a distinct bite and floral aroma that have earned it just about every major beer medal.

Aroma: nutty, toffee/caramel aromas dominate. Appearance: crystal clear and lives up to the amber moniker. Taste: the malt flavor is center stage followed up by big bitterness to reign in the malt. Palate: middle of the road, moderate effervescence and body. Overall: I prefer my Ambers pretty hoppy so this one isnít quite for me but still itís a well made amber.

Pours a brownish amber with a head somewhere between off-white and tan. Floral hop aroma up front. Fades a bit during the session lending to more caramel and biscuit aromas. Caramel malt flavour with some alcohol as it warms. Medium bodied with a rich mouthfeel and an off-sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle into English pint. Smooth malt mouthfeel with a slight hop bitterness, then continue yes to finish smooth. Light lacing. Aroma of raisins. One of the better ambers Iíve had.

Draft to taster at The Pint Room. Looks solid; a completely transparent caramelish orange with foamy off-white head. Smells malty with notes of fruity hops, ale yeast, and a touch of toast. Tastes like it smells with a mildly bitter medium-bodied mouthfeel. Solid, but unmemorable.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with white head. Piney, resiny hop, caramel, toast aromas. Resiny, piney, herbal hop, bread flavors with a caramel malt backbone. Itís been awhile since Iíve had a good red. A good change up.

Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Smells faintly minerally and of malty sweetness. Taste is malty and hints of earthiness. Light-bodied with a wet texture and average mouth-carbonation, Ballast Point California Amber finishes with a lingering dryness.

A rather delicious amber ale. Has quite an uplifting taste. Quite a fruity conponent makes it almost a hybrid between an amber and a pale ale.

330ml bottle. Biscuit notes but a ton of fruit too. Perfectly pleasant but nothing too exciting.
