BREWMUSKCLES (818), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Mar 17, 2008 the beer is a pleasant and deep amber and it rolls well into the glass. the head is equally tart and tangy and the body is rich and full. this beer has a powerful hop character that is citrusy to grapefruit rind. the malt is recessed due to the hearty hop profile, but you can detect a pleasant mild sweetness. that sweetness does have a nice fruit punchy component to it. overall somewhat unbalanced but, hey whaddaya want you’re here in a power brew. seemed the alcohol would be a bit higher. an over the top amber that works and takes amber to a more interesting level.
nbutler11 (305), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Dec 3, 2008 Pours a dark amber color from the tap at the brewery. Sweet with sugar on the aroma and loaded with hops in the flavor. Would be solid with food. thornecb (1228), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Dec 1, 2008 Pours deep, clear amber into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Malt and mild pine aromas. Sweet pine and resin upfront. Full-bodied with a lasting grapefruit finish. Very nicely balanced throughout. yngwie (3762), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 29, 2008 Bottle, 22oz, at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. A clear, copper beer with a small off-white to beige head. Caramel, fruityness and citrusy hops in the aroma. The flavor is on the hoppy side with caramel sweetness to balance it. Somehow dryish, and a finish with caramel and lots of hops. Another pleasant amber, but it fails to bring out the great enthusiasm.
