3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BiddleBrau (659) - Fort Washington, USA - JUL 27, 2008
Pours a brown/amber with dense tan head. Aroma is citrus and of pine hops with slight malt presence. Hop flavor is less citrus and more ‘piney’ and more bitter than I was expecting. Malt profile is there supporting the bitterness and helps temper a lingering aftertaste. Well balanced and complex for an American Amber. Nice job to Jack and the boys at Home Brew Mart.

(bottle). Beautiful clear amber complexion with opaque head and lacing. Flavor is a mild malt and hop balance. Well done but not outstanding.

Aroma is sweet malts, hops and a slight hint of tea. The flavor is mild sweet malts, a hint of earthiness and a long hoppiness that leads into a mildly dry and bitter finish.

This is the real deal amber, red color, nice pour and amt of foam. Taste is slightly bitter but nicely balanced by the malts, pretty much a perfect mix for an amber ale. One of the better, more smooth ambers I have had, definitely a keeper.

Bottle from Tap East. Pours dark amber with a billowing tan head. Pine, orange and tropical fruits in the aroma with some creamy vanilla esters and a little nutty bread. Immediately tingling the front of the tongue, it is both astringent and silky with a wonderful hoppy tropical creamy flavour. This palate coating creaminess is still present in the aftertaste with a delightful dryness. Fantastic.

bomber from MR g’s/spec’s hoppy amber for me but it worked! reminded me very much of the Steel Toe Amber I had a few months back; liked this slightly less - overall a balanced brew but leaned a little toward the hoppy side vs. sweet side; well balanced and the most lacing from a non stout I think I have ever seen. glad these guys are now in Texas!!

Pours rich copper color with a two finger tan head with good retention. Smells like hops and citrus. Taste a caramel malts, and good hop bitterness with citrus notes. Med body. After taste is bitter, and a little watery. Good ale for hop lovers.
