doubleo (966), San Diego, California, USA Jan 25, 2008 For some reason I have never tried this beer before. What an awesome amber ale. Pours a nice reddish/brown color with a thin off-white head. Smells hoppy and spicy. Kind of a hoppy spiciness. That mix of grass and citrus, you know. Tastes very good, nice and hoppy but not too aggressive as to be offensive or anything. Nice warm malt flavors on the back of the tongue. Palate is super crisp, thin body and nice and dry on the finish. Good carbonation.
This is one of the best amber’s I have ever had, if not the best. Definitely a beer you could sit down with and enjoy continuously for many, many hours.
nbutler11 (305), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Dec 3, 2008 Pours a dark amber color from the tap at the brewery. Sweet with sugar on the aroma and loaded with hops in the flavor. Would be solid with food. thornecb (1228), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Dec 1, 2008 Pours deep, clear amber into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Malt and mild pine aromas. Sweet pine and resin upfront. Full-bodied with a lasting grapefruit finish. Very nicely balanced throughout. yngwie (3762), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 29, 2008 Bottle, 22oz, at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. A clear, copper beer with a small off-white to beige head. Caramel, fruityness and citrusy hops in the aroma. The flavor is on the hoppy side with caramel sweetness to balance it. Somehow dryish, and a finish with caramel and lots of hops. Another pleasant amber, but it fails to bring out the great enthusiasm. (080912) blutt59 (955), Dallas, Texas, USA Nov 1, 2008 bottle, nut brown color with frothy tan head that fades, aroma of hops, caramel and some fruit, flavors of sweet caramel, grapefruit, pine, and lemon, and a bitter malt finish AmEricanbrew (1137), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Oct 30, 2008 Crystal clear copper color with a tan head. Good caramel sweet aroma with floral hop. Medium body. Rich caramel sweet flavor with earthy spices, and a tasty floral hop bite in the finish. Nice amber here.
