COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, copper ale with a case full of gold medals. Our Calico Amber Ale takes its inspiration from traditional English ESBs. Four types of malts give it a bold complexity, and our proprietary yeast strain lends it a fruity, madeira-like richness. However, it’s the American hops that give this ale a distinct bite and floral aroma that have earned it just about every major beer medal.

Aroma: nutty, toffee/caramel aromas dominate. Appearance: crystal clear and lives up to the amber moniker. Taste: the malt flavor is center stage followed up by big bitterness to reign in the malt. Palate: middle of the road, moderate effervescence and body. Overall: I prefer my Ambers pretty hoppy so this one isn’t quite for me but still it’s a well made amber.

On tap at B and B burger and beer in Las Vegas. Very malty. Toffeeish. Wow. I love this beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly hazy dark amber with off-white head. Sweet aroma. A lot more hoppy bite than I expected based on the aroma. Not bad.

Subtle but nice floral aroma with light caramel in the background. Average size head but quite pillowy. Perfect balance of biscuity malts and clean lemony flavors. My favorite amber to date.

A brownish amber brew with a bit of haze, good carbos with a rich dense head. Toffee malt aroma with some hops. A candied malt taste up front with bitter hops bring up the rear. A good tasting brew with some nice mouthfeel, perhaps a medium bodied beer. Drink well my friends

Bottle @ Monks, Stockholm. An enjoyable amber ale, well balanced and with a gentle finish.

Pretty similar to an IPA. Strangely as I was expectating a traditional amber ale. However, tastes good and I would drink it again. Recommended.

Actually very strong tasting for a standard Amber Ale. It reminded me more of an APA instead of an AAA.

12oz bottle. Dark amber brown with a towering beige head. Aroma: fairly equal mix of hops and malts. Flavor follows although the balance is a bit maltier.sweet light and medium roast malts with a touch of darker (chocolate?) malts. O remarkable flavor for style. Recommended.

Tap at Lazy Dog. Pours a darker amber with thin off white head. Aroma heavy on the malts with bits of hops. Taste of mostly bitter hops, citrus is hiding in there too.

Left Hand Path, Brooklyn tap: Pours brownish amber with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus hops and plenty of caramelized sugars, malts, and flowers. Taste is exactly what one would expect from the aroma. Nice slightly sweet. Hops are somewhat dominant. This is what an amber ale should be all about. This doesn’t veer off into being an IPA, but stays with the style and gives it ample flavor.
