COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, copper ale with a case full of gold medals. Our Calico Amber Ale takes its inspiration from traditional English ESBs. Four types of malts give it a bold complexity, and our proprietary yeast strain lends it a fruity, madeira-like richness. However, it’s the American hops that give this ale a distinct bite and floral aroma that have earned it just about every major beer medal.

Bottle. Damn, that’s pretty, Jewel-toned amber with a creamy head -- that’s just an amazing color. Nose is citrus, tropical fruit, and camphor. A good punch of hops up front, then a silky, round, malty finish -- amazingly smooth and rich on the palate. Finishes long and dry. Yeah.

Pours opaque brown with creamy head; brown sugar aromas sweet palate with nice mildly hoppy finish.

Keg, Leicester Dog. Deep bronze heavily freckled with white. Watery after a Dog with limp soggy peach and sponge notes, hints of chipshop batter, iced tea and rose water. A bob of cherry Tune. Aroma of red boiled sweets, possibly cherry Tunes, grenadine and candle wax. Low condition. No finish. Bland to the pitch of an alcohol free like Nanny State with all the freshness and flavour sucked. Beyond Indifferent.

Dark amber with thick creamy head. Toffee malt aroma. Big, thick mouthfeel taste with a good hit of citrus & piney hops balanced with full bodied malt. A rich beer especially considering the ABV. Rated by BrewTom

Draft at The Answer, thanks to Spies for the sample. Poured a clear medium amber, decent head. Aroma of caramel accented malts and light citrus hops. Flavor a match. Certainly not as bland as a lot of Ambers, but coming from Ballast Point I had hoped for a bit more hop assertiveness. But not a bad beer. Just wanted more oomph.

Tognetta (398) - Campinas, BRAZIL - AUG 12, 2015

Bottle. Pours a clearish rusty amber with a mostly lasting white foamy head. Aroma of red fruits, pine, caramel, woody. Taste is woody, grassy, caramel, strawberry. Medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel.

Bottle sample at Beer&Beyond, Tel Aviv. Slightly hazy copper with small beige head. Sweetish aroma, notes of milk chocolate, caramel and biscuit, a bit spicy. Sweetish flavor with notes of caramel, medium hoppy bitterness, some citrus (lemon) notes, soapy. Moderate carbonation, medium-bodied.

Normalw amministrazione.
