Floral and rich to the nose, no palate wrecking on the finish. If you like to have room on your palate for a follow on selection this one will do it. I got a "Christmas candy" taste followed by a nice warm soothing finish. Ballast Point nailed it!

Draft at Caliente in Pittsburgh with Devon, Don and Katie. Yes sir, a perfect score for a memorable beer. A bit heavy on the hops but nothing that would detract from the perfect taste and flavors.

Copper color with a large head. Dank aroma. Light citrus. The flavor is a bit like candied orange peel. Just a bit of sweetness, but lots of orange and tangerine bitterness. Medium bodied.

Thx to Will for lugging this xcountry. Pours a clear orange with fluffy white head. Aroma is pithy orange, heavy pine, hop resin, piss. Flavor is resiny hop, very nice pale malt backbone, grapefruit.. Not overly sweet or boozy for 10%. Nice

Big, orange pine and cream aroma. Taste is very rich with notes of mango, pine and orange peel. Finish is strong and spicy.

Bomber purchased at the Little Italy tasting room. Nice light amber color with a light floral hop aroma. Excellent mouth feel, not overly malty. Excellent hoppy brew without being overly bitter with no alcohol undertaste. An excellent double IPA and I would have again.

Ballast Point is ON POINT with this one. Like most of their hop oriented brews, the Dorado is one to enjoy. The complexity from the varieties of hops creates a smorgasbord of piney, grassy, and citrus flavors and is supported by a strong backbone of toasted malts. A darkish brown color creates a telltale tan head and nice palate that comes from the near perfect balance. Great brew.

Nice representation of the style. Nice pine and citrus aroma. Not overpowering though. Orange brown color with some haze to it. Full crisp palate with some weight. Hops are up front and lingering. Bitterness fills the mouth but is balanced by caramel from the malts. Not overly sweet though. Good stuff.

Pours copper with small one-finger creamy head. Powerful resiny, piney nose. Some peach, grapefruit and caramel malt offer a rounded and inviting aroma. Fairly sweet introduction combining sweet caramel malt, citrus and tropical fruit. Pine takes over and resinous flavors spike the palate. Nicely balanced and full-flavored. Great beer.
