Clear honey colored pour with a fine white head. Lots of lace. Nose is hop resin, fresh hops, and caramel malt. Sticky hop resin taste. Caramel malt. Hint of alcohol in the finish. Medium mouthfeel. Nice carbonation. Great DIPA. Very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy from my iPad.

Aroma: biscuity malt, sweet and, er, malty, it smells warm both kiterally and figuratively. Juicy fruit chewing gum thinks it’s still 1979 and struts up with freckles and flared denims. Flavour is fantastic. Citrus: the ubiquitous grapefruit, now orange peel, now candied lemon. Finish is citrus peel with a high keening pine resin note.

This is where the money is at! On top of the piney, citrus aromas a little bit of licorice was coming through. The hoppiness is extreme but well balanced.

Terminus (2891) - Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA - APR 29, 2013
bottle-purchased at friar tuck in Springfield, IL. april 2013 vintage unknown Pours lite clear orange hue with a small soapy white head and sparse lacing, nose of wet fruits, lite alcohol, mostly aged mangos, papayas, and lite citrus-smells more like an aged barleywine than anything. I dont know what the age of this brew is but its not the most punchy IIPA i have ever had, flavors of fussel alcohol, pine, grapefruit, and more alcohol heat. wow, i really dont think this is fresh. However, what is here even though its hot, is much better than most aged IIPA’s. its not as woody as most hwoever, the alcohol heat is pretty wicked. Its a well constructed beer wish i had it fresh.

22 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent thin orange-yellow color, 3.5 mm white head formed but did lace just a little. Aroma of hops- but it seems heavily muted, and malt. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt was lightly mixed with caramel, that small hop nose whoops your ass and slams down the door in the middle, finish is heavily acidic. God I miss Cali IPA’s!

glennmastrange (1884) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - APR 25, 2013
Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy pine and orange peel for the hops, light soap for the yeast with hints of honey and dried apricot. Head is small, frothy, white with good lacing and good legs, and is mostly lasting. Color is sparkling clear but has a few crumbs on the last pour, light amber/orange. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then the long finish is lightly sweet and acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a soft to lively carbonation and is moderately astringent and alcoholic in the finish. Grapefruity aroma and bold bitterness from this top-notch DIPA.

tmoreau (1625) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - APR 21, 2013
Sampled at a recent Wirtz Beverage/Illinois seminar, and poured to stemware by the staff from bombers displaying a clear, deep golden color, with creamy, soft white head foam, and nice cling to the ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was expressive mid-fruit, citrus, with a touch of pine. The flavor was big malt with some sweet accompaniment, pronounced and very lingering hop bitterness, and big alcohol. A bold DIPA.

Shag (2439) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - APR 19, 2013
This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma contains perfume, pine, oranges, and lemons. The flavor is bitter but has a solid malt presence as well. There is some bitterness with oranges and lemons in the flavor. There is a slight tropical fruit thing going on at the end. Overall a good IPA.
