Nose of tropical fruit, apricots, with notes of citrus/pine. A white ring rests on an slightly hazy amber pour. The palate is snappy and bitter overall. Initially, sweet tropical fruit leaps out but is quickly subdued by a delightful prickly hoppy bitterness. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, while charactful this beer is very ballanced - nice juxtaposition of sweet fruit to bitter hops. Well designed and excuited.

A nice amber color with a decent whitish tan head. Punchy hops thoughout and into the finish. Bitter, but with a good pine, citrus, and earthy quality. Strong, but drinkable.

2014/03/17 - Pours a cloudy, burnt orange-honey colour with a two finger, foamy, off white head that lingers. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, orange, caramel, roast and cereal grain. Taste is citrus, pine, sweet caramel malt and some nice roasted notes. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky with mild carbonation and a bitter, drying finish. Nice balance between citrus/pine and roasted/caramel notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber at Mike’s.

Deep orange pour, aroma almost exactly as expected, a big pine-and-citrus DIPA. Flavor showcases the hops, grapefruit and tangerines, malt certainly there but not too sweet, alcohol notable though not overdone for an IIPA. In the end, even Ballast Point doesn’t really do it for me in the double IPA world. I guess I’m just bored of the style.

Pores like an imperial IPA with very little off white head. subtle not over powering hop smell. Taste is a little burnt which I like but full flavor. Very smooth and not very sweet which is great

Clear gold color with a touch of orange. White head that faded rapidly into a thin collar and wisps. Aroma is faint citrus, grainy malt sweetness, slightly piney. Nice hop bitterness, medium-high carbonation, medium-low body. Taste is grainy malt, grassy/floral hop and grapefruit citrus, very faint spice.

On tap at Avery Strong Ale Festival. Appearance: finger of white head, orange color, clear. Aroma: floral, orange peel, light caramel notes. Palate: light-medium body, bitter lasting finish, average carbonation. Taste: light sweetness up front with building and building hoppy bitterness at the end. Overall, this beer is over the top hoppy, the bitterness is definitely the defining thing to this beer, balance is slightly underdone.

Bottle was several months past its enjoy by date. Unfortunate because the citrus and pine was too muted. Plan to rate again later. Still awesome. Poured a great golden orange with a medium head that lingered. Aroma was mostly malts. Flavor and palate were mostly malt forward with some caramel in the back. Very warm, full DIPA. Can only imagine how delicious it would be with the expected citrus.
