3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tastes like the west coast. Bubbly movement in the glass as it rests in front of me. I wold recommend this beer with good friends from college and their three young girls.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep, clear copper, with small head. Strong hop aroma, with some breadiness and citrus. Flavor is very bitter, full pine hops, with a surprising sweetness and some distinct floral, citrus notes, strong grapefruit. The alcohol content is largely masked, but there are some boozy flavors as well, even a bit of licorice. It’s a really pretty good DIPA.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nose of tropical fruit, apricots, with notes of citrus/pine. A white ring rests on an slightly hazy amber pour. The palate is snappy and bitter overall. Initially, sweet tropical fruit leaps out but is quickly subdued by a delightful prickly hoppy bitterness. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, while charactful this beer is very ballanced - nice juxtaposition of sweet fruit to bitter hops. Well designed and excuited.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice amber color with a decent whitish tan head. Punchy hops thoughout and into the finish. Bitter, but with a good pine, citrus, and earthy quality. Strong, but drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2014/03/17 - Pours a cloudy, burnt orange-honey colour with a two finger, foamy, off white head that lingers. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, orange, caramel, roast and cereal grain. Taste is citrus, pine, sweet caramel malt and some nice roasted notes. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky with mild carbonation and a bitter, drying finish. Nice balance between citrus/pine and roasted/caramel notes.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber at Mike’s.
Deep orange pour, aroma almost exactly as expected, a big pine-and-citrus DIPA. Flavor showcases the hops, grapefruit and tangerines, malt certainly there but not too sweet, alcohol notable though not overdone for an IIPA. In the end, even Ballast Point doesn’t really do it for me in the double IPA world. I guess I’m just bored of the style.
