This was a cloudy pour with a big hoppy aroma and a nice kick to it,it was a very enjoyable IIPA and had hints of citrus and was a bit chewy and resiny and piney a real strong effort.CHEERS!

big thanks goes out to bhensonb for sending this my way along with about 17 other brews. poured a hazy light gold with a white head and decent lace. aroma of strong citrus, orange, some florals, pine, and some buttery notes. flavor was very interesting and semi complex. flavors were pine, grass, a decent malt backbone, and some alcohol. body was medium with medium carbonation and some slickness to it. amazing smooth for 9.6%. yet another great beer thanks to bhensonb.

This beer pours clear and bright. It’s a light to middling shade for a DIPA with good lacing. The nose is strongly hoppy with a West coast DIPA profile, lots of citrus, some pine and a bit floral. The flavor is actually smoother than expected. I was thinking that this beer would have a strong hop bite, and the hops are definitely there, but the malt is strong, too. The beer does tend to get a tad boozy with malt sweetness, but the tangerine rind hops pull it back from the brink. The feel is smooth with a bit of alcohol, as previously mentioned. If not for the boozy note, it would be an extremely drinkable DIPA. Anyway, Dorado is another strong effort from Ballast Point.

Bomber. Pours light orange, clear, and with a frothy head. Aroma is a nice clean grapefruit and lemon; very perfumy. Flavor is a solid mixture of juicy tangerine, orange, and grapefruit. The middle and finish also round with some lemon zest, citrus pith and bitterness. Lingering bitter aftertase that I welcomed wholeheartedly. The hop flavors start strong, and rides a nice wave of citrus through to the finish. This is a relatively simple beer, yes, but at the same time there is everything to love about it for a hophead. I cleanly brewed, flavorful beer from Ballast Point.

Picked this one up while in San Diego. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a thin white head. Flavors of lemonade, strong hops, grapefruit, orange, other citrus. The nose is strong grapefruit. Dam good beer.

I bought this in Imperial Beach on the advice of a friend and brought it back to Colorado. The color was a clear orange hue with not much white head. Smell was fruity, hoppy juicy. Taste was like watermelon rind, cantaloupe, and green melon, a bitterness in the aftertaste. This was a good beer but I actually liked the Big Eye IPA more, which is also the case with Green Flash; I like the single IPA better than the double. This was also a little more expensive than all the other DIPA’s I brought back from San Diego at $7 a 22. Rock on. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-03-2007 18:46:45

nice floral aroma. nice pale gold colour. excellent balanced flavor (i use that in the sense that this is a DIPA). fizzy palate. Excellent beer!

Served cold from tap at brewery. This is the best Ballast Point brew, in my opinion. Almost 10% ABV, big hop aroma, citrus and floral notes. Flavor is well balanced, not nearly as bitter as expected, but great taste. Almost no presence of the alcohol, even though it’s an Imperial. Feels great on the palate, smooth, and a fine hop finish.
