4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Somewhat of a cloudy copper with a white head. Orange juice-laced Pac NW citrusy hop nose! Pretty sweet, there’s a solid amount of residual sugars in here to balance the bitterness, which is ample. Very citrusy hop flavor - grapefruit/orange. Full, round and creamy on the palate with moderate carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a crystal clear amber/copper with a big fluffy white head that sticks around forever leaving a sticky lace all over my glass. Smells of hops mostly, odd for a double IPA :) Pine citrus grapefruit, all the usually suspects. Hints of sweet malt 3 miles underneath the onslaught of Humulus lupulus. Taste is not quite as bitter as I expected, or my palette has been ruined from the IPA’s of late. Citrus and resin dominate, but the sweet taste of caramel peeks in somewhere in the middle before losing the battle to a lingering grapefruit finish. Thick body, bitter resinous mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Not a bad IPAx2

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
PP Carlsbad. Golden yellow haze in the glass with a thick resinous pine aroma. Taste is chewy, resinous hops and pine with follow-up sweet malt. Quite the solid IIPA although I would prefer a more pronounced floral character.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy, deep golden color with a medium-sized white head. Strong fruity aroma; peaches and grapefruit. Piney hop aroma. Hops and bitterness take center stage in the mouth. Enjoyable!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Old rate 2008. 650ml bottle from Philadelphia roadtrip. Hazy golden with a lasting off-white head. Delicious sweet hop aroma, dominated by orange, apricot and peach, with a little pine and tobacco bite. The flavour is the real deal: Extremely bitter, to the point of hurting the throat, and with no cloying malt sweetness. There is a touch of alcohol showing up at the end, along with green, pine, hoppy flavours in the aftertaste.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark brown with a white head and a little bit of lacing. Smell is a lot of citrus (mostly grapefruit) hops with a bit of a floral character coming in as well. Taste is very similar with a strong bitterness and only a slight backing of caramel malt. Moderate body with good carbonation. Very drinkable, especially for a double IPA. Intriguing hop presence that I thoroughly enjoyed, perhaps more so than Sculpin.
