4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled at a recent Wirtz Beverage/Illinois seminar, and poured to stemware by the staff from bombers displaying a clear, deep golden color, with creamy, soft white head foam, and nice cling to the ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was expressive mid-fruit, citrus, with a touch of pine. The flavor was big malt with some sweet accompaniment, pronounced and very lingering hop bitterness, and big alcohol. A bold DIPA.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma contains perfume, pine, oranges, and lemons. The flavor is bitter but has a solid malt presence as well. There is some bitterness with oranges and lemons in the flavor. There is a slight tropical fruit thing going on at the end. Overall a good IPA.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
I sorta hate to disagree with the 99% rating but this was a bit of a slog. Vet Stone-like in its muddle of multiple hops that wear down the palate and the stomach. Even the nitro dispense didnít lighten this one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rich, deep copper color with a white ring head. Resiny hop aroma. Medium-thick but smooth texture. Lighter body with a full but tame floral, hoppy taste. Square finish.... hides the alcohol incredibly well.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
4/9/13. 22oz bottle. Hazy orange pour with a small orange white head that lasts in half forever and laces well. Bold dank bitter hop aroma, almost sour, cat pee, citrus, earthy, and just about everything on the hop gamut. Rich flavor, loads of citrus, grapefruit, dank, pine, and much more. Intense and tasty.

Same in taste with smooth full body.Mildly toasty good light sweetness with nice stronghop flavor/bittering.Maybe some fruity yeast esters.
Some dry alcohol in finish off and on.Strong piney/citrus flavor in finish. One of the better double ipaís right here.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle pour orangish yellow. Nose of pine, citrus, and sweet undertones. Taste of the same, grapefruit up front, pine, citrus, followed by bitter. All balanced by a thick mouth feel and sweet backbone. Good length. All the f
Arbors I like in a DIPA, but not as big, slightly muted.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle with drink by date of sometime in 2014 so Iím good.
A: Pours a bold amber. Head has good retention.
S: Smells like any other IPA. Floral, a bit more malty than others I suppose.
T: Hops are out of control when they first hit. Then a hint of malt but it gets cut down by more hops. The problem here is the hops are very dull and dry. They linger too long and cut through the other flavors so much that there is little play left. Finish has a pretty intense alcohol bite.
P: As detailed in the taste, the hops just linger around too much. Palate is super aggressive. .
Overall this beer was actually pretty weak. Itís just so unbalanced. I think back to a certain triple IPA I had that did not leave me with the same notion that the hops are out of control. Theyíre just so dull on the palate that they linger and I canít stop thinking about them. I wonder if I just got a bad batch given the generally high rating of this one. Iíll stick to the calico amber... that was killer!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dorado double IPA on tap at beer kitchen 101 in Dublin Ohio. Beer pours a rich amber with a thin head of small white bubbles. Nose is rich with pine and citrus hops. Body is just a touch lively. Taste is a tantalizing blitz of pine, orange zest and white pepper. Finishes just a touch warm with medium bitters. Very solid beer. Very drinkable.
