3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared by Darrell. Thanks man.
The beer is mildly hazy and appears a sunset orange color. Half inch of white head. The aroma offers citrus, hops, alcohol. Tropical fruits dominate the flavor with alcohol presence notable throughout. While I would consider this a hop forward beer, the malt body definitely plays a major role. Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation. Lingering notes of alcohol, tropical fruit. Overall, pretty good. It would be better if the alcohol was hidden more gracefully.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I had a highly regarded double IPA from California yesterday, so comparison will be useful. I would also like to point out that as I currently have a pinched nerve in my lower back, Double IPAs are making a very useful muscle relaxant. This is not alcohol abuse, this is apt alcohol use. Anyway:
Sparkling orange amber colour with a persistent white head with greenish tinges suggesting massive hopping. It has left good lace down the side of the glass. Again there is a good amount of Pacific NW hopping with the emphasis on resinous spruce, green cones, dehydrated peach and sage. I would be quite happy if Glade were to make an air freshener that smelled like this, but it is unlikely to happen. A slick, oily body with plenty of reference to the flavours described in the aromas. Big, fruity qualities abound with some tropical guava and lychee as well as green berryfruit. Then there is subtle bitterness underlaying that as you savour the beer on the palate become much more pronounced. This beer will have/has an enduring finish that brings out the "bite out of a green spruce cone" flavour that leaves you desperate to find something to follow it up with. In my case, probably a snooze, but I would advise some salami and soft French cheese. I just don’t have that cheese in the house.
Contemplating buying this beer? Do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it. I hope this is clear.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber courtesy of my secret santa joeneugs. Pours tiny hazy deep golden with a rather fluffy offwhite head that is pretty quick to dissipate while leaving some sticky trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, slightly malty, fruity and hoppy with biscuits, crackers, grapefruit juice, pineapple, mango, alcohol, oily pine, resinous wood, oily fresh lemon zest, caramel, lychee and cape gooseberries. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and fruity with grapefruit juice, oily pine, resinous wood, biscuits, alcohol, orange zest, lemon zest, overripe tropical fruits, crackers, caramel and hints of gooseberries and green kiwi fruit, mouthfeel is round, oily bitter, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with caramel, oily pine, pineapple, resinous wood, biscuits, alcohol, grapefruit rinds and green kiwi fruit. Solid stuff...

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Poured deep gold with a medium sized head. Aroma and flavor were citrusy and resinous hops, some pineapple and apricot, doughy, caramel malt. Quite bitter, moderately sweet. Slick mouthfeel. Alcohol’s a bit hot. Good DIPA but didn’t strike me as really distinctive.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
500ml Bottle @ brew on quay. Pours rosey gold with a thick but small head. Aroma is floral, grass clippings, some mandarin with pettles spronkled through. A full beer in the mouth, palate is super hoppy with plenty of bitter raisin alcohol.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber - pours cloudy golden with a lot of lacing. Huge dry hop flavor with an oily mouthfeel. Bitter to the end. The IBUs have to be through the roof on this one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask pour at Gingerman. Citrus, pineapple, floral, and sweet dough on the nose. Sweet doughy malt profile. Very bitter and fruity. At room temp the alcohol feels quite hot on the finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Floral, sweaty, oily aroma. Brass pour with a handsome little head. The flavor is sharp, resinous, and hoppy. There is no mistaking the intention here, and it is pour on the hops. The malt backing is solid and the pith-like aftertaste doesn’t cross the line. A really good IIPA.
