Pours clear copper with a half inch white head. The dense foam recedes within two minutes and reveals a partial skim coat on the surface and some decent lacework. Aromatics are pungent, piney, and citrusy. Notes of wet hay and juniper add some earthy zest, along with spruce sap and grapefruit pith. Alcohol is evident with a trace of fusels intermingeling with spiked orange skins and grapeskins. Mouthfeel is dry, crisp, and mildly stinging from assertive bitterness. The pallet is juicy and piney, heavy on the pink grapefruit and orange pith. Conifer sap from the bough, with alcohol steeped dried fruits. Bitterness is substantial and borderline astringent, lingering as lengthy as the warming alcohol. Finishes almost hot, with jowel-watering bitterness and tongue-gripping alphas. A great beer, but I think a fresher example would boost the numbers.

Bottle courtesy of Quake1028 or Ibrew2or3. Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of orange zest, pine, grassy hops, and sweet malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a strong but well balanced amount of bitterness. Very good

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris_Os Ha Ha Ha Ha Gimme the Cheese Tasting.
Amber coloured with a thin white head. Very good grassy hops nut a little too much wheat flavour pulls it slightly out of line. Very slight hints of alcohol but its well hidden really making it drink a little below its strength. Possibly a little too sweet but all in all a decent IPA.

Bottle at Chris_os The Wolf tasting. Hazy gold. Piney hop aroma. Good grapefruit. Bit empty on malts. Good beginning and end, but a bit metallic in the middle.

Draught No head (dirty glass - at the brewery!), slightly hazy orange colour. Very expressly pineapple nose, some hops, but generally sweetish-fruity smelling. Fruits and sweetish, like a fruitcake with pineapple and some citrus. Hops are there, but they hardly seem US! Yet, this is good, if a tad sweet. Medium bodied. Quite easily drinkable, the alcohol being inconspicious, this is a dangerous one. The least hoppy of all IIPAs - and yet this is more than OK. And such thing on the West Coast - shocking!

Pours a dark amber in color with a nice frothy half inch head. Smell is somewhat past prime hops and lots of malt to help support the hops that were there. Taste is much the same. Dont know if this bottle didnt travel well or just got a old bottle. The hops are not what they should be.

Bottle courtesy of Overlord. Thanks!
Pours a gorgeous bright glowing orange color with a lasting offwhite head. Smell is grapefruit, and orange hoppiness and sweet malt. Balanced smell. Taste is hoppy but not as much as expected. Balanced well, and smooth, sweet citrusy malt. A touch too much alcohol is coming into the flavor making it less enjoyable though. Quick finish. Somewhat easy drinking, but the alcohol presence hindered it significantly for me.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours slight hazy and orange with a dense off-white head. Citrus/orange peel fruity and pinewood hops aroma. Fruity and dry hops flavour: citrusy, orange fruit, peaches, pinewood and light apricot. Nicely balanced sweet caramel malt base accompanying this. Goes into a lovely fruity hoppy finish slowly declining in fruit flavours into a rather dry set of hops. Great!

Hazy golden with a lasting off-white head. Delicious sweet hop aroma, dominated by orange, apricot and peach, with a little pine and tobacco bite. The flavour is the real deal: Extremely bitter, to the point of hurting the throat, and with no cloying malt sweetness. There is a touch of alcohol showing up at the end, along with green, pine, hoppy flavours in the aftertaste.
