Mine was a clear amber from the tap. Citrus hop aroma right from the start. Malty backbone set up the hop kick. Very good after taste that lingered. A very good beer.

Hazy orange pour with a creamy off white head which quickly dissipated. The aroma is sweet peach and barley with hint of orange. The flavor is barley, citrus, bitter grape fruit in finish. Full bodied yet highly drinkable.

The Dan Journal #363. Tasted 6/28/10. 22oz bomber. Hazy with a golden hue. Brainy off-white head. Aromas of honey, hops and toast. Undertones of tart berries. Slight burn in the nose. Full bodied with a sticky palate. Decent alcohol note. A lot of melon and berry flavors in this one. Followed by a lot of grapefruit bitterness. This is a big beer! Definitely an Imperial. Smooth sipper. Very nice!

Appearance: golden orange translucent body with a 1 finger white crown that shows some retention and lacing. Attractive! Smell: Oh baby can you say citrus hop bomb? Loads of grapefruit and a touch of lemon. Taste: The only thing holding this brew back from scoring higher is an abundance of grapefruit flavor which means there is also a fair share of bitterness. The bitterness helps mask the abv and decreases as the brew warms. Not much of a malt profile here....this is strictly a grapefruit hop bomb. Dare I say Pliny-esque? One dimensional yes, but great at that dimension! Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and a hint of stickyness but with ample carbonation makes this one great! Drinkability: The high abv is a set back in this department. Great DIPA! Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-08-2009

Tap at Rattle and Hum. Pours glowing orange-gold with a decent, fluffy white head. Big citrus aroma of pineapple, grapefruit and orange, and strong notes of caramel malts. The flavor is potent but extremely well-balanced, making it an easy drink. Lots more citrus and heavy bitterness, but the massive malt backbone evens things out. Very sweet from start to finish, with a lingering citrus, very mild pine, and plenty of sugar. Medium bodied, average carbonation. So great.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Poured an unclear amber. Nose is big fruity piny hops that say look out here we come. And come they do. This is very well carbonated so it along with the great taste it’s almost too easy to drink. Very dry and not fruity. It’s bitter in the middle and in the end an leaves you thirsty which is great until your glass is empty.
