4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from South Bay Drugs & Liquors. One of the best DIPAs on the market. Has all the bases covered....awesome hop blast to the nose, outstanding flavor....not so much due to any great balance between malt and hop, but more due to the fact that the intense hoppiness is just that good. Not thin on the palate either........quite a tasty brew.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aromas are citrusy, resinous, piney, some caramel malt. Clear red, mostly lasting off-white head. Predominantly bitter, but nicely balanced, strong without being assertive. Medium bodied.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
There are so many double IPAís these days itís hard to stand out. This one doesnít stand out but is solid. Smells good, looks good, taste good. Alcohol well hidden for 10%. Classic west coast grapefruit bitterness. The bottle is one of the best labels so itís definitely going in the collection.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not my favorite IIPA, but still good. Has an alcoholy, floral smell. Is amber with a coppery head. Taste is bitter, with a sweet alcoholy after taste. Overall a good, but not great Imperial IPA.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz bottle.
Clear amber, thick one finger head, sticky lace.
Floral hop aroma hits first, with citrus and earth, and some sweet malt layered underneath.
Flavor has much more hop. Grapefruit, orange, pine, resin, and some spice. All that hoppy goodness is balanced by sweet caramel malt.
Long citrus finish. Alcohol is well hidden.

4.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Classic DIPA amber color, clear body, and one finger thick head greeted me upon pouring. The aroma was a lot more subdued than expected. It took a really deep whiff to get a sense of the hop presence in the beer, and even then it felt a faint. I could detect grapefruit, orange peel, a some apricot. The taste was much bolder than the smell. There was a lot of grapefruit pith, lime, bitter orange, and other citrus flavors, as well as some pine resin. The malt was secondary, but noticeable. The body of the beer was dense, sticky, and filling. The alcohol was very well hidden, and without reading the label, it would never have been guessed to be a double digit ABV beer. This was a very enjoyable take on a strong DIPA without being almost a barleywine. Delicious to the last sip.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
2/22/15 from bomber. Nice big head and excellent piney aroma with hint of orange. Taste is a little out of balance on the bitter side compared to Pliny the Elder. Strong alcohol bite and bitter aftertaste. A bit too much grapefruit flavor. Very good but not great.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear copper with plenty of suspended bubbles and huge soapy head. Pine, tropical fruit, grapefruit dominate aroma, notes of biscuit come through. Very long bittering finish. Starts briefly with grapefruit but malts become much more prominent in mouth - then as sweetness fades with the onset of the bittering finish the warming sensation of the abv becomes more pronounced (shades of barleywine). Very complex for the style.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Meditrina. Clear bright copper with lasting head and full lace. Full on grapefruit spice and crackery malt. Mild toasted crackery nutty malt sweetness with some tropical and peachy fruit. Aggressive grapefruit rind hop with some woody pine lingering bitterness. Medium body. NIcely attenuated. Brisk carbo. Excellent hop bomb.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle: there is no clear freshness date on the bottle...there is something that says 15028...so maybe thatís 2015 28th day of the year? Jan 28th? So itís less than 30 days old.
Appearance: Bright copper color with a white head. Brilliant transparency...truly a lovely looking beer.
Aroma: A catty hop aroma with a light hint of alcohol.
Taste: A strong woody cedar-like flavor with some pine resin. There is a rustic bread crust flavor around the edge. I donít pick up any alcohol flavor which is great for a 10% beer.
Mouthfeel: Robust bitterness that really lingers on the back of the tongue.
Overall: A very good Double IPA focusing mostly on woody pine flavor. Itís worth drinking again but it wasnít anything special.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle The D/IPA poured clear light amber with a small head some lacing. The aroma of aromatic hops greets you. The alcohol is detected but not abusive. The medium body ale had soft carbonation, You do taste a peach brandy possibly from the high ABV. Gentle bitterness cleans up the swallow, resulting in a smooth finish that caps off the incredibly delicious sip.
